Supposedly Ronald Thompkins might have been full go today. Thoughts? I'd like him to get all of the way healthy, but if his vision is good. Why not bring him in.
He's not nearly up to speed on the playbook. Maybe they could script a few plays for him but if Frost says Wandale who was here for spring still isn't 100% ready, Thompkins isn't going to bring more to the table than the other guys. Mazour is NOT chopped liver at RB and he knows the offense inside and out. Wandale nearly got Martinez killed when he failed to pick up a blitz. I'm afraid to think what a guy who just got to campus might do. Again, IF Frost thought a back was any kind of upgrade, he would play. Period. Our wild suggestions are just ill informed guesses. He can bring just what you stated. They can have a few plays for him, but if Mills can't get the vision going we need some sort of a backup plan. Mo Washington is a stud, but will need a break. Wandale will get his, but I'd rather not see Wyatt M out there.
Also, from all accounts RT has really looked good. I have no problem getting some of these freshman in if they can help us and have game-breaking ability.

this myth that Wyatt Mazour is the next coming of Tony Davis.
Mazour would have had to beat out Devine in order to play more last year. We don't have Devine this year. Mo's reps last year were scripted and somewhat limited. And yes, Mo nearly got our QB killed on more than one occasion by not picking up a blitz last year. Thompkins I don't think is 100% yet and he certainly is not up to speed on the playbook yet. I don't see any benefit from throwing him out there yet if we don't have to. Mazour is roughly a low 4.5 guy who knows the intricacies of the offense and probably more similar to Burkhead in what he brings to the table than Tony Davis..
I guess I am just in the camp that I would rather see the best athletes out there instead of this myth that Wyatt Mazour is the next coming of Tony Davis.
So are you saying Wyatt should have been in over Mo Washington last year? You know why would you play someone with talent that might have game-breaking ability?
The legend of WM grows everyday.

I know what Frost has said about him and others have reported. Obviously you haven't been at practice either. I understand your desire to see him n action, but none of us on this message board have no clue other than the obvious or what we're told. He'll play IF Frost thinks he's ready and can help.So you are at practice and you know exactly where Thompkins stands? I don't care who is out there as long as we win, but like I said I would rather go with talent vs. good ole trusty just because he is a RB from Nebraska. I'm patient and will give it a few more games to see what happens and I could be wrong, but it has a feeling of last year when we heard a lot about Greg Bell and nothing ever happened. Mills is a hard worker and a ram, but if he lacks the vision it may not happen for him. In that case I'd rather is Rahmir, Ronald and more Wandale at RB.
Supposedly he looks good in non-contact drills. Anybody could look good in those. I'm as high on RT as anybody, but rushing him back just seems a little like desperation. He can bring just what you stated. I wouldn't get too wrapped up in Parker Gabriel's tweets.I don't disagree, as I stated in my first post I'd rather have him get all of the way healthy. I created the thread after seeing a Parker Gabriel tweet about he is no longer in the green jersey and is supposedly full go.
Really didn't have time and if Wandale was the outlet he needed to give him more space to attempt a pass. He kind of whiffed and then stood there. I'm not sure what the play design was supposed to be.I thought AM should've dumped it to him on that play
I wouldn't get too wrapped up in Parker Gabriel's tweets.
The way Mills is playing is every reason to want Tompkins to get his redshirt. If you think this kid is going to fare any better coming off two blown knees and being a true freshman you must really like betting against the odds.
There's no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Mills missed a couple cuts and Frost said as much, but he's still the guy we were all drooling over prior to Saturday. Now some people wanna be done with him already and start throwing true freshmen at the situation.
Just calm down and let the guys build their chemistry.

There's gotta be a few plays where Frost can call something like, "Okay Ronald, we're gonna hand you the ball and you run like a MF'er, got it?" Doesn't seem too complicated. I'm always in favor of getting a look at more guys, that's how you find the gamers who pop on Saturdays.
Really? Tell me more.Isn't some of that what practice is for? So you don't really know how they will react when bullets are flying but you are OK with taking that chance even if the game is on the line?
They don't just make these plays up in the huddle and they can't draw on the turf. Bummer
I did not see mazour do anything to warrant "played well"..if thompkins is power back WITH vision unlike mills we need and will use him. Johnson is a 10.6 100 guy..and again could have a role if mills co tinues to fall flatWhy? He played well.
I hope not. Davis was a fumble machine. I got to the point that I wouldn't have been surprised if he went through the line and handed the ball off to the linebacker..

Why, he was at practice and stated a fact?
A friend played on the O line when Jarvis Redwine played. They literally had to tell him which way to run on every play he was in the game.Isn't some of that what practice is for? So you don't really know how they will react when bullets are flying but you are OK with taking that chance even if the game is on the line?

He was not at practice. He saw R Thompkins walk by after practice with a regular practice jersey on. He has been practicing in a green no contact jersey.
