This. In my humble opinion, once you get beyond the top 20 recruiting classes in the nation, there isn’t much that separates a team ranking of 21st from the team ranked 41st. Player development and coaching are the bigger factors in that range. So the difference between a high three star and a low 4 star is negligible and often subjective.

nailed it and dead on. We could have top 100 guys and it wouldn’t mean a dam thing if we don’t have player development.

dam bro, don’t you think it’s time to let that drop already? You been at it for weeks now. The first 4-5 times was ok but now it’s getting a bit over the top.

I think you have me confused with someone else. I've never said this before. Maybe you were being sarcastic too, bro?

Reminds me of Matt Anderson last year. Not a ton of wow offers yet, but Fish really, really likes this kid and pushed hard for him like Austin did with Anderson last year. Time will tell how good they were with their evaluations.

After OSU game: We have a talent gap problem! How are we supposed to compete with them when they have so many more 4 and 5 star players!?

This week: Trust the coaches, they know what they are doing. Stars don't matter.

So confusing...

The front page story on what his commitment sums it up nicely. True corner with very good hips and cover skills. He's able to run with fast WRs. We need some true corners who can cover one on one. He's got decent size already but will only get bigger. Nice pickup. Cover corners are hard to find.

We need highly-rated 4-star players, not 2 & 3 stars if we want to win the Big Ten West. Every player looks good on film when you're a 2-3 star player. Let's see if Delancy can make a difference or he sits on the bench.
You can always pick out the guys who know nothing about anything. If you were a platoon leader, I would guarantee you would be killed by your own men.

probability of being an NFL draft pick by star rating

5* . ~ 60+%
4* ~ 23-25%
3* ~ 5-8%
2* . ~ 1-2%

more than 50% of 1st round draft picks are 4-5*s

I'm sure he will get bumped to 3* and I do not have the percentages of which 3*s that land at a power 5 school that go on to get drafted - but I'm sure it is higher than the 5-8%

Where do these numbers come from?
