Special Assistant (to the) Athletic Director**. I guess this is due to Brian Shoop retiring at UAB. (edit: the article says so, my bad)

I don't mean this the way it'll come out, but this seems... weird. Why are we wasting a full-time position (unless it's a volunteer spot) on someone who likely isn't going to be doing any meaningful work?

Ceremonial title like queen of England... doubt much pay involved

Yeah, especially considering he doesn’t give anything back.***

I think the real question is did we have to throw in a gnome to be named later to Travelocity or was he out right released?

So I will be the contrarian...we're not expanding the football stadium, we just lost the best coach we ever had. The only school not allowing booze. Last one to announce we are open for the fall. Now polk. Should we call these the Cohempleton years?

As Robert Frost said, "Home is where when you have to go there, they have to take you in." Welcome home, Coach Polk. Having started to school at MSU in his second year as head coach, I can tell you, he deserves this and a whole lot more. His in-game decisions often left me scratching my head, but no one should ever question what he did for this school, the SEC or college baseball. He was an incredible ambassador for the sport.

Football fans make me sick. How many times has that stadium been sold out in the last five years, but we should spend millions on an expansion. Do you realize that the baseball stadium, regardless of which one you talk about, has been sold out in season ticket sales for decades, with thousands on the waiting list. Ron Polk built that.

I think your complaints are very misplaced. While I will agree that we should be selling alcohol, that has a lot more to do with Keenum than Cohen. There is zero need to expand a stadium that we cannot fill up except for rare occasions. The demand for thousands of extra seats is not there right now. Polk being hired back to a ceremonious special assistant job means absolutely nothing, and the university announcing they would be opening up after other schools has zero to do with Cohen.

During 2014 the stadium was packed and will be again if Leach can work his magic. The key is winning, it can solve a lot of problems.

"Emphasizing coaching relationships?" WTF is that? Another poster has it pegged I think, he needs some more time on the job to qualify for something.
