I thought Dylan did try pretty hard for RU but Bailey was basically out there for O only not a stitch of D. Rutgers to him was like playing pick up games at the “Y”
Lol ace was the best defender and the best rebounder for Rutgers last year. Played out of position all year because he was the best big man and rim protector on the team. I don't even understand how or why these types of narratives begin. Did you watch the games last year?

Except Bailey was probably our best defender

It depends how you define that. Big O was either unavailable or playing hurt (recovering from injury) the entire season. His defense was significantly worse than this past year. And Lathan was truly awful at defense - to the point, quite honestly, where any other year we would’ve concluded he was unplayable but the options were so limited. Martini not big or strong enough to be effective as a post defender at the BIG level. Ace made up for certain things down low but was green at others. His shot blocking was not a substitute for a real 5.

He was our best defender, and rebounder, of guys that played. Yes, EO and Dortch could have been considered better by metrics, but Ace's improvement on that end throughout the season was drastic. Yes, the comp for best defender wasn't deep, maybe JMike with JWill and Dylan behind them. Martini hustled, the best I can say. Lathan and Grant were awful. Acuff hobbled, ect.
