I would prefer if he were made Master of Aggression and Physical Domination. The title comes with a bullhorn and Bike coaching shorts

Good to see RB as an analyst. I think he would be helpful up in the booth on game day with his experience.

I am surprised they have not hired a ST analyst yet.

Title means nothing. It's a way to keep him on-board. What he does from day-to-day may be completely different. As long as he's still with the program, we're better. Long live Ron Brown.

Sure, just give him a title and let him do whatever he wants. That always goes over well with taxpayers. Sheesh

This is starting to sound like "He has been part of NU for such a long time, so here is a role where he doesn't have to do all that much and we don't have to expect a lot from" but really that is fine, I don't know why people would care.

Sometimes people put in their time that they earn these kinds of roles.

Not sure what he contributes. Keeps getting hired over and over. He must have the get out if jail free card for being an over the top Jesus Boy !!!
If we actually put him in a coaching role, he'd be the best assistant on this staff.

Exactly, which is why it's weird to see him in a senior analyst role.. makes no sense to me at all.

Frost did say he was old, and needed someone who could relate to players better.

Did Ron recently lose his mind, or is Frost mismanaging resources again?

My guess is that he is just old...Father Time gets us all.

The staff is pretty young.

Yes. Ina program With 4 losing seasons in a row let’s just keep a guy around who we aren’t sure what he does. That should work

If you don't know what he contributes and has contributed, I'd urge you to learn a little bit about Husker football. I assume you're 16?

I could see that. To be perfectly honest, I'm not that in-tune with all the rules on analysts.

Just to clarify for my sake as much as for the discussion at hand, I did some research.

The 20 limit headsets was added to keep analysts out of the box but it also states that 1 non-coach staff member could be on the headset. I am sure that applies to the box or sideline.

This article talks about an analyst who stood on the sideline away from players, taking notes and communicating with coaches between series. If they can do that on the sideline then they can do it in the box. I would think the box would even be better for that then the sideline.

https://www.stltoday.com/sports/col...cle_8641f742-c227-5c57-9d0e-22514a089ad3.html

I also found this on reddit from 3 years ago.

QC and Analysts mostly watch film, break it down, lol for tendencies, stuff like that. They do specific tasks for the OC during the week and then sit in the box during games and look for things like defensive formations, players, etc.

I think Ron Brown is an experienced coach like Bill Busch and would do great job looking for tendencies up in the box.

I don't think it's weird at all. A big part of coaching is going on the road to recruit and that is no fun for most coaches. I'm guessing he doesn't need the cash and is doing something he likes to do. I'm guessing his previous role included lots of running around solving problems which gets tiresome. Dealing with X's and O's is a lot easier.

Wasn't Brown in charge of running backs during the pelini era? We had some studs during those years. And to religious parents it is very important to have someone of faith on the staff.

Usually when you are up in the booth, there is a pretty strict set of rules of who talks and when...

It turns into a **** show if you don't do it that way.

Timbo, you have lost some faith in Frost so don’t deny it. You are not 100 percent sold anymore
Has nothing to do with you. Frost is behind his own success or failure, and I knew that before you began taking credit for it.

You post under multiple user names because you are nuts.
And you are a delusional fan who has deemed it okay to lose every year and be okay with it as long as it’s a “Nebraska” guy driving the ship. As long as you get hype videos of them dancing then you are content.

I am? I have stated before that I think Frost is gone after next year if he doesn't vastly improve. He would have been gone this year if he was anyone other than Frost.

You keep propping up straw-men though. Maybe that could be your next user name?

I. don't think Brown was good with players and off field development. The guy is way to conservative, opinionated and religious to relate to todays 18-22 year old kids. I believe some of the blame for these early 2020 kids transferring sits squarely on Ron's shoulders.
I am thrilled he has been moved out of that position.

This is one thing we agree on. What is vastly improve? The schedule is easy next year.
