Going to the D League for a stint doesn’t mean you suck. Teams use that to get good players more game reps and during rehab assignments to get back into game shape. Plenty of lottery guys have spent time in the D League fo various reasons.
Yeah, folks like to have fun with this...Without really understanding. Like I said, Monk, the 11th pick, spent time in the G-League. It happens.

BTW---How ya been , friend?

since when does a lottery pick get sent to the D league ? Should’ve stayed another year under Miller’s bright teachings

This is antiquated thinking. There's no longer any stigma to playing in the G-League. It's now a very normal thing for teams to send their first round picks down for a little seasoning ..and they always soon get called back up.

And, btw, you also need to update your terminology. There's no longer anything called the the "D league."

It’s always gonna be the D League, don’t care whatever they name it. D is for Developmental, G is for Gatorade or whatever stupid corporate ******** they’re going with. Players go there to develop, not drink Gatorade.

I’m gonna stay stubborn.

Has anyone from this years lottery or last years lottery done so? Like more than 2-3? I’m honestly curious.

Hes been injured, Did not play in the preseason. With Boston being pretty full at his spot, they assigned him to the G-League, to get some reps. Seems that was a pretty good move.
He was developed under the great tutelage of the master of development Archie Miller.

He’s overrated.

He was overrated because it turned out he was a much worse three point shooter than expected.

He was able to hide that flaw in high school because he was so good at driving that he only had to shoot threes when wide open. But it got exposed when he had to take more contested threes in college.

I know the 14th, 15th and 16th pick from this years draft are in the G League.
In last years draft, the 13th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th pick have all spent time in the G League.
Not all lottery, but shoes you guys picked in that part of the draft play on the G League.

I live in Louisville and have a lot of friends in Jeff/New Albany area of southern Indiana so I went to a handful of his games with them and heard all the gossip over his 3 year stint of stardom. He was basically a 6'5 sophomore in high school who never grew or got better that's why he flew up the rankings as a youngster and then went the other way as a senior. Every time I went to one of his games a kid named Sean East who ended up at UMass was the guy that always seemed to hit the shots that mattered. Romeo was pampered at New Albany, on his dad's AAU team, and at IU. That's why Cal and he had the fall out. Cal challenged him on the U18 team and daddy and he didn't like it.

Can he become a good NBA player? I think so, will he, I don't think so. People thought he was on pace to be the best player in the state of Indiana history for a while. If he ends up as meaningful rotation player that will be a win for him at this point.

#IUsedtobe was Romeo's last resort. They ponied up $ through Adidas. Originally Louisville had him bought and paid before Pitino was fired. Cal expected more out of him then he wanted to put forth in effort. Archie sucks as a coach and he let Romeo do what he wanted. Indiana has the dumbest fanbase in the Country!

Several UK players went to the G-League. As stated above, it's not the same G-League as it was when it was first introduced. Stigmas are hard to break, as evidenced by this thread.

If people on here can't help but feel disdain for kids they don't know, at least try to forget about the ones who have moved on from college.

When injury force you miss much of the Summer, the end of preseason, and beginning of the NBA season. He is back with the Celtics now, thanks for paying attention.
