What is a gryphon?

It's a cross between an eagle and a lion.It has an eagle's head a lion's body and wings. I believe it's the guardian of the divine and their treasure. It's been a long time but I think that's what it is.

Back when Danny Talbott and that crowd played there, they were the Rocky Mount Blackbirds.

I think the school mascot is basically a cross of the two mascots from the previous black and white schools, the Lions and the Blackbirds.
