Marshall has received far more money from the state for athletics than WVU.

Far more.

WVU announced "self-sufficiency" in the mid-80's.

This was related to the new stadium and unanticipated crowds which allowed us to pay off the bonded indebtedness associated with the new stadium. Private fund raising exploded at the same time.

In the meantime MU tried the same scheme for your new stadium. BTW your stadium cost more than ours.

Your prez, however, told the bonding authority, AFTER the stadium was built, that MU could only pay 30k per year to retire the debt. 30k. That's a 1000 year payoff.

A member of the bonding authority made a motion for the Herd's debt to be forgiven The motion passed and 30,000,000 dollars was removed from the books and shifted onto the backs of the taxpayers, the vast majority of whom are WVU fans.

And now your athletic budget is subsidized by the taxpayers to the tune of 28% to 43%.

You've gotten far more money from the state to run your athletic department than WVU.

Will you pay it back? When?

And those idiots are talking about stadium expansion when they can't fill their current stadium.

Hell, they can't even build a respectable baseball facility.

They(WVU) sold you a lie since the 1980s and you and your non-alumni type believed it. Its like you take pride in something that you no contribution too.

If it's a lie, prove it's a lie.

I donate to the school, so yes, I have a contribution to this admirable achievement.

Maybe since it is an article of faith amongst the Herd Fans that we have steadfastly maintained a lie regarding our athletic self-sufficiency for 30 plus years you could initiate an investigation into the claim.

I'm sure the Herald Dickscratch would be interested to try to prove that the highest profile people in the state have been lying for all these years.

C'mon Herd Fever, get your brother kamikazes together and expose this fraud for all of our sakes.

Should be easy.

Self sufficient since the 80s? What year did Caperton send you the state tax money to build your cute, little indoor practice facility?

That was $400,000 and a surcharge on tickets that was supposed to end that summer was continued in order to pay off that 400k.

In the meantime, the Caperton "gift" has been repaid.
