Iowa state was expected to compete for the big XII title based somewhat on a their QB.what hype?
he didn’t do much of anything to carry them in games where they needed it.

PSU may have the weakest P4 schedule in the nation in 2026.
It is really hard to find more than 1-2 potential losses on there.View attachment 1085119View attachment 1085121
Another “Cyclone 4 Life”! Almost feels like they’re trolling at this point… maybe a shot a Campbell?
I completely agree. I'm sure the thought process is that if you invoke the name of God then it's not really your fault. You actually really, really wanted to stay with your team but Jesus told you otherwise. And how can one go against His wishes? 🫠Makes one want to cry, all of these "heartfelt" sentiments.
I guess our Lord is very busy during the "open portal" season? Bo Bassett prayed for days before he decided to lie to Iowa. Many others start their farewells to their former team with "after considerable prayer I have decided to enter the portal." I am not an expert on the subject, but I find it hard to believe that God is counseling all these players and coaches to quit on the programs that gave them their big break in either playing or coaching.
Tell the truth. Just say it. I am leaving ISU or whatever team to make more money and win more games.
Clearly if Iowa had that schedule and won 10-11 games we be hearing about it all season in the media and even here people saying we hadn't done anything.Wow. That's an amazingly weak schedule. Campbell gets a honeymoon season. He'll think he's still in the Whatever League ISU is in.
This. First year coach has a lot of work to do. Starting with a QB that knows your system and that you know helps a lot.
This. Which is one reason I'm fine if we don't go QB shopping in the portal again unless its s depth piece, (in case we have more defections). With Heck, (Brown if he stays) and Sullivan, Lester will have had this year, the bowl practices, spring and fall camp to work with his guys. From a prep standpoint that way ahead of where we've been the last three years. Lets see what he can do with his guys.This. First year coach has a lot of work to do. Starting with a QB that knows your system and that you know helps a lot.

He's 2-0 against Iowa's defense. I think he'll do fine at Penn State.Based on history he will face much tougher defenses in the Big 10. The Big 12 has been a poor defensive conference for years. This year OSU, Indy, and Oregon, and Iowa , had top 10 and even top 5 defenses or close to it and Penn ST and Mich are known for tough defenses as was wisky and MSU.
What hype?I would think that was assumed.
frankly, he didn’t live up to the hype.
Someone in a non-important position called the quarterback.Who?
Not murderers row by any stretch. That's a CFP type schedule if they are decent.PSU may have the weakest P4 schedule in the nation in 2026.

The Big Ten portion of the schedule has not been setup as far as the dates of the games yet.Not murderers row by any stretch. That's a CFP type schedule if they are decent.
Maybe this isn't so weird, but seems weird to me.......first 3 Big Ten games on the road, then 5 straight at Home.
They'll likely be ranked about #15 to start the season, and if somehow they get past Michigan, they're Top Ten when USC comes to town.
You couldn't ask for a better setup if you're Matt Campbell in year one.
I would be surprised if Rocco doesn't follow Campbell to PSU. As mentioned earlier on this board, he knows the system Campbell likes to run and he knows that Campbell trusts him. It would really help PSU hit the ground running with Rocco at the helm. Will be interesting to see if Grunkemeyer, the backup QB currently in the starting role, sees the writing on the wall and enters the portal.Rocco is a very good QB. He'd look good in Black and Gold.
ISU football has to feel like Drake basketball right now. Lose your coach and a bunch of players. Sucks for them.
At least when KF retires he won't be taking any players with him. Some might leave on their own of course
ISU is 2-0 the past two seasons against Iowa’s offense is a more accurate assessment. He's 2-0 against Iowa's defense. I think he'll do fine at Penn State.
I figured the order was set and the dates up in the air just in case they played on a Friday night or something. At any rate, they miss Oregon too. It really couldn't be setup better for a first year Coach, who will have an experienced starter at the helm, and I'd be stunned if that starter isn't Rocco. (they could pay someone else I suppose, but I doubt they will)The Big Ten portion of the schedule has not been setup as far as the dates of the games yet.
So they don’t necessarily start with 3 road games, it is still TBD. (We’re waiting, B10 officials)
Upsets happen. But, if I was a PSU fan. I would only be potentially concerned with Michigan, USC, and Washington(only because it is on the road).
They dodge both of the current B10 giants in Ohio State and Indiana. Michigan will have a new coach. If MC doesn’t take them to the CFP in year one, there will be considerable grumbling from the PSU fan base.
Did he really have huge numbers against the hawks Dee. Not really, totally blanked in the first half of 2024 and only scored 16 at home this year so that is 16 points against the hawks in 6 quarters of football. He's 2-0 against Iowa's defense. I think he'll do fine at Penn State.
2-0 versus Kirk's turtling up the offense.ISU is 2-0 the past two seasons against Iowa’s offense is a more accurate assessment.
They also seem to bring up God a lot. There kids that post "forever" and "always" are hilarious.
^^ THIS ^^ Grunkenmeyer finished the season Strong. Rocco, the opposite...He will have to beat out Grunk which is not given , That Kid grew up a ton last few Games
He has not loyalty to Iowa State. He was a big figure and cowardly with a bunch of poor leadership to skip the bowl game.if I were Rocco I would test the portals top bidder.
We beat ourselves twice
FifyKirk beat us twice
Ain't no worse than Matty C. He cheated on them and left.He has not loyalty to Iowa State. He was a big figure and cowardly with a bunch of poor leadership to skip the bowl game.
Zero loyalty to Ames. I would make sure the door hits him on the way out. And I really could give a S about it...
I like your idea about taking him but doubt if he is thinking Iowa City. VaTech seems more likely, or he could stay at PSU. He might beat Becht out for the starting job, it's just as possible as not possible.I think Grunkeyemeyer hits the portal. Iowa should get Grunk. He reminded me of Gronowski
This would be my perfect world scenario. I totally get its a long shot, but would be over the moon if it happenedI like your idea about taking him but doubt if he is thinking Iowa City. VaTech seems more likely, or he could stay at PSU. He might beat Becht out for the starting job, it's just as possible as not possible.
The forever stuff and all the phony love is getting really old from all directions. Just say I’m leaving so I can make more $$There kids that post "forever" and "always" are hilarious.
Social Media has given a whole lot of people an inflated sense of self-importance.The forever stuff and all the phony love is getting really old from all directions. Just say I’m leaving so I can make more $$
Wow. Thats an opportunity to go undefeated honestly. They should be favored in every game but 2 at this point, at Washington and at Michigan but we have no idea what’s going to unfold there. Certainly a chance to be undefeated heading into their last game with that schedule.PSU may have the weakest P4 schedule in the nation in 2026.

That’s totally false.Maybe competes for one of the weakest P2 schedules, but it will be a lot tougher than most big 12 and ACC schools.
