It was reported the scouts that were there almost specifically to see Becht left at the half. The podcaster who rode the elevator with them said (paraphrasing) they had seen enough and it was bad. You're all going to have to learn to embrace Becht because he's going to likely be the QB the rest of the year
Whether you like it or not if MC didn't consider benching him against NW he probably won't do it this year.
It was bad...I'm questioning whether or not any scout was sent just to watch Rocco though. That seems like a massive waste of time/money for someone who was never a day 1 or 2 pick. Hopefully they were with the Bears and made the quick trip if true lolIt was reported the scouts that were there almost specifically to see Becht left at the half. I can't imagine why anyone was there to see Becht - I assume those guys do go overboard though on doing their due diligence. It was reported the scouts that were there almost specifically to see Becht left at the half. LOLIt's not a mystery. These guys just aren't very good.

These boards have basically hated every QB we've had since Collins with the possible exception of Trace (which was smoke and mirrors because of Saquon, Gesicki and Godwin). People here still act as though Beau would have been better than Allar despite him being run off Mizzou and will likely be pushed out at UVa after this year. People bashed Clifford for years. Hack was hated despite staying. McMoxie was loved then hated. Morelli was hated for not living up to the hype. Clark and MRob were probably the only others since 2000 that were liked at all.
Collins is the only Penn State QB that has had real success in the NFL since Blackledge. He hasn't been here in over 30 years.
It's just common for posters to attack the QB--it's easy. Becht has been awful for 2 games but we've had worse.
I liked him--but I feel like everyone turned on him in 2003 & 2004--at least 2004Fans liked him:

The overall talent (not just QB) just doesn't seem to be there. We'll see where they end up at the end of the season but 5-6 losses with no IU, OSU or Oregon on the schedule and a pathetic non-conf schedule would be a considered a failureThat oblique is clearly not well. He's playing hurt. I'm not making excuses, his play has been awful, but he can't drive the football. It's obvious.
It's time for Manske. People ask what Joe would do: Every time Joe had a team that was failing with upper classmen, he played the kids at mid season.
