Not only that, but, we are supposedly offering significantly more than the schools we’re competing against. Seemingly, every report I’ve seen on our recruiting battles has included a disclaimer saying our offer is significantly more than the competition. And, he STILL can’t close on anyone. That’s a big problem.
The boosters need to use that money they had for Stokes to get rid of Pope.... If Mitch don't like that idea, then they need to withhold all the funds until something is done!

It really shouldn't be this hard. It's obviously not the fans or JMI, and we made some changes on the staff. There is only one explanation. Other programs aren't having this level of difficulty getting their primary targets. We still might get them, but we are making this WAY too difficult.

UK will always be a top program. We will have a new coach if we keep missing on players. I just wish we could find out the truth. It stinks having to hear all these rumors about this or that being an issue. I’d like to really know why we keep missing on players.
And I’ve said already that’s what I was told by multiple people. I haven’t heard from them anything else so I’m not just going to say I know why he didn’t announce today because I don’t.

I don’t know what’s going on at this point and I’m starting to not care. I’m not sure that it’s Mark‘s fault exclusively. What we have is a terrible freaking system, and these kids are exploiting it to the max.

I’d be tickled to death with that Furman kid. I’d tell Wright he has one hour then we’re moving on. At some point, you have to put the pressure back on these kids. I’d tell Stokes the same thing. Seriously. Put the ball in our court.

This is a terrible model that we are in. I keep seeing people say college is now a pro league, and I have to ask how? The only similarity is they get paid. There is no draft, you still have to recruit these kids who bounce around like madmen asking for new bids. There are no contracts or trades, so if it doesn't work out after a year you just wasted a bunch of time/resources to get nothing in return.
Some of the power has to be taken away from these players and their agents. They are just jerking people around left and right.

They have already proven they can blow any recruitment. I wouldn’t be shocked if neither came.
These kids just don't relate to Pope. Statements like you're a beautiful basketball player, makes recruits think he's weird. He still might be able to buy them though, if he way over pays like last year.
