Apologies if there is already a thread out there on this, in which case please just point me there.

Planning to head to the game in Michigan and appreciate any advice on places to stay, things to see, places to eat and drink, etc. during the stay. Will likely head to the Sunday night game at Ford Field while in town as well.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Thread title brought back one of my best RU memories -- driving to Michigan State back in 1988. Crashed with guys covering the game. At breakfast in the hotel, people seeing our bright scarlet clothing: "You sure came a long way to see your team lose." Me: "You're half-right." The "you *******" was merely implied.

RU 17, Michigan State 13.

Headline Sunday morning in the Lansing State Journal: Rutgers??? Really???
Of course, in what has been almost a Rutgers tradition, that stirring win -- with an awesome ground game running out the clock -- was followed by a loss to Vanderbilt at the Meadowlands in what would turn out to be yet another mediocre season. (My three autumns on the Banks saw us go 16-16-1. I dare your years to be more mediocre.)

Anyway, hope you're trip is half as sweet.

Agree! Went with 3 other RU buddies and had one of the best weekends of my single life. The upset win was just an exclamation point

I'm interested in suggestions as well for things to do there and places to eat. Reserved hotel rooms already about 20-30 minutes outside Ann Arbor.

I would suggest staying at Weber's Inn it's a great hotel in Ann Arbor. They have a great breakfast and dinner at Midwest prices. I would also recommend staying in Detroit for a night. The city is slwly slowly turning around and there are some great restaurants and breweries there. I did the Ann arbor trip and east Lansing trip the last two years and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed the state of Michigan. I refuse to go back to either though until we are more competitive.

The Graduate hotel is right on the main campus and downtown Ann Arbor which means lots is walking distance. I used to stay there when my company annually recruited their MBAs. May be tough to get a room there on a game weekend. I also recommend Zingermans and a little place called Afternoon Delight for breakfast or lunch. I used to enjoy the potbelly sandwich place but now we have one in NYC so not a special treat anymore. Great college town. Have fun!
