Will our winning only at home be a deciding factor in making the dance?
I know we have a few more chances, but it sure doesn't look good right now.
Of course, we have had a lot of close ones which may make a difference.

not if we take care of business at home. Which won't be easy. Can't lock in an AWAY game in the B1G tourney for this team. I feel like we need 2 at home and 1 on the road.

We will win 1 of the upcoming road games either against Wisconsin or Penn State. Don’t know which but we will.

3 road wins. Also 2 neutral wins.

None of the 12 potential NCAA teams in the B1G have as poor a road/neutral record as RU. Minnesota (1-8 on the road, 1-1 neutral is the only one remotely comparable).

Iowa has one Big Ten win. They lost to Nebraska at Nebraska and only beat Northwestern on the road yet they were still ranked before yesterday.

Take care of business at home and RU will be fine.

if we are on the bubble then yes it matters.

If we win out at home we will be in.

If we limp down the stretch and end up with 19 wins then it may matter as we are compared to BE, SEC, and B12 bubble teams.

Iowa has a road win at Iowa State and neutral site quad 1 wins over Concinnati and Texas Tech

Iowa State has had a down year...very down by their standards...10-14 for Iowa State and road games left at Kansas, Ok State and home games with Texas, WVU and Texas Tech....it's possible they finish with 20 losses and lost lottery pick Haliburton to a broken wrist last week.

We've lost 8 road/neutral games(1-8) by a total of 54 points or 6.75 pts/game to an avg. NET of 42. Would it be nice to win more on the road? Yes, but it's not hurting our ranking where we are in trouble of missing the tournament. They do factor in competitive losses which every loss has been competitive. We've kind of gone the route of how NCAA Football decided the National Champion before the playoffs were implemented, margin of victory/losses matter.

good to hear

They probably need some kind of point system
competitive loss - 1 pt
win at home - 2 points
win at home greater than 10 points - 3points
road win - 3 points
can add for quads, OTs, and other parts of Net

Why don't we look at all road records?

Because we all play the same teams in conference, so it's a there's less variance in the strength of those road games.

Here's several different looks, though.

Non-conference games:
Road:
(2-0) - Iowa
(1-0) - Penn St, Ohio St, Michigan St
(1-1) - Wisconsin, Northwestern, Purdue, Illinois
(0-0) - Maryland, Indiana
(0-1) - Rutgers, Michigan
(0-2) - Nebraska, Minnesota

Neutral:
(3-0) - Maryland, Michigan
(2-0) - Indiana
(2-1) - Nebraska, Ohio St, Iowa
(3-2) - Michigan St
(1-1) - Northwestern, Minnesota, Penn St
(1-2) - Purdue
(0-1) - Rutgers, Illinois
(0-3) - Wisconsin

Overall non-conference, non-home records:
(3-0) - Maryland
(2-0) - Indiana
(4-1) - Iowa
(3-1) - Michigan, Ohio St
(2-1) - Penn St
(4-2) - Michigan St
(2-2) - Northwestern
(2-3) - Nebraska
(1-2) - Illinois
(1-3) - Minnesota, Purdue
(1-4) - Wisconsin
(0-2) - Rutgers

Overall Road records:
(5-3) - Penn St
(4-4) - Michigan St, Illinois
(3-3) - Maryland
(3-5) - Iowa, Ohio St
(3-6) - Wisconsin, Purdue
(2-5) - Michigan
(1-5) - Indiana
(1-6) - Rutgers
(1-7) - Northwestern
(1-8) - Minnesota
(0-9) - Nebraska

Overall non-home records:
(6-3) - Maryland
(6-4) - Penn St
(7-6) - Michigan St
(5-5) - Michigan
(5-6) - Iowa, Ohio St
(4-5) - Illinois
(3-5) - Indiana
(4-8) - Purdue
(3-9) - Wisconsin
(2-8) - Northwestern
(2-9) - Minnesota
(2-10) - Nebraska
(1-7) - Rutgers

I hope we can get into an early season tournament next year, where we play at least 2 games on a neutral court. This team will need that experience to prepare for what should be another breakout year for us.

As far as this year goes, as much as I wish we had gotten at least one of those close losses on the road, I can live with it if we make the big dance anyway. As another poster said, it will likely only affect our seeding.

The NCAA should establish a minimum number of wins on the road or neutral site to be factor in receiving a NCAA bid.Such a action would help minimize debates among teams with similar won loss records .While i think it would be a good idea ,I don't think it will happen because the NCAA Committee wants the latitude to pick and choose and make the final say as to teams that are eliminated.

I think the NET system addresses this already, doesn’t it?

I know. I’m not saying it isn’t relevant. I just don’t agree that it should be relevant.
