I know I'm looking way ahead, but I need to just get this off my chest. LOL.

After tonight, I don't see Rita beating Naz in La Grange Park, which would give them four losses.

Assuming they beat ND, Pats and Leo, this Week 9 game will decide if Rita gets into the playoffs.

After barely losing to Naz tonight, I am very concerned about IC.

Of course, I hope I am wrong, but I thought Rita was going to win by 15 points tonight. Would've been nice to see the I-formation way more in this game. You have the size, go right at them, gain some big yards, and have play-action rule the day, but I digress.

Did see some of the smash-mouth ball when Rita scored easily in Q3 to get their first points of the game. Offensively, after that TD, Rita did very well, but it was the two TOs late in the 4Q that ruined any chances of winning.

Credit to the defense during the whole second half. Very gutty performance to hold a very good team to basically 14 points and give your offense a lot of chances.

Unless you're MC-LA-LWE-ESL, I now have changed my mind about scheduling, at least, one tough opponent in Weeks 1 or 2.

Try your best to schedule "tomato cans," and get off to a 2 - 0 start.

2026: Week 1: Chicago Englewood STEM at Rita. Week 2: Rita at Chicago Solorio at Gately. Let's do this!!!!

It will be a tough game on road vs IC - there's just something missing with Rita team thiss year - no super game breakers. But they need to have a good showing vs Naz (who knows perhaps an upset). If they get smoked by Naz then that will take the life out of em and I am afraid it might be Prep Bowl

I will say that I've always advocated for SR to have a very good passing attack so she has a chance against the top schools come playoff time.

However, since the passing game has been established, I think it's time now to start running the ball more. The final drive against Marist to win the game is a perfect example. The only TD by Rita tonight was a perfect example as well. They ran the ball 3/4 times and scored easily. The pass play was an actual great scramble by QB.

Aside from BR/MC, Rita's O-line is big enough and good enough to establish a running game. You have a Junior RB who runs hard and can get his team 4-5 yards at a time. He also can bust a tackle and run for a long time. Of course, the RPO is in play, and Rita has been effective at times running it, but I feel the QB is in that shotgun too much. I-formation is boring; I get it, but it can be effective. I love how Georgia loads the lines with TEs and FBs. They gashed Tennessee last week in Knoxville. I have to believe Rita has another lineman or FB-type player to put in that backfield and smash someone at the line.

Yes, the past is for cowards, but in '22 when Rita's passing game wasn't a threat at all, they went under center a lot and used two RBs to get a ton of yardage--the big guy, Stewart, and speedy Middleton, I believe. Once that was established the Junior QB ran play-action at times, hit open WRs and TEs and they played dominant playoff ball and almost upset MC in the semi-finals.

I am not saying use the power game all the time, but against these teams that Rita matches up well, why not? You can still have a very effective passing game playing under center.

And I get it: it's easy for me to be a backseat driver. All coaches deserve credit for being there for their players and being positive influences in their lives. I just think going back to basics can be a good thing sometimes.

When’s the last time you showed up to a game or offered to do anything for the program other than just criticize online? Just curious

So, I can't express my opinion and offer some critique in your world? I have to believe you have thicker skin, especially if you're a Rita guy.

Opinion is one thing. 99% of their fans share the same frustrations with you. Just so damn negative all the time. In years past, we all knew who the Rita posters were. Have no clue who you are, so clearly you aren’t showing up giving any support to the school besides steaming games and logging onto here saying go run ram counter right 32x a game like it’s 2002 again.

Your what hurts? "damn negative all the time." You haven't read my posts before. When did I type "ram counter right 32x a game?"

“If they get smoked by Naz”

If the Naz that showed up to IC shows up at all again this season I doubt they smoke anyone. The Naz that showed up for MC? Now you might have to worry about them.

Confused, did Naz have a bunch of injuries vs IC? Coaches suspended? How did another team show up?

A very impressive 38 - 21 victory over a very tough team. I believe SR would've gotten in with a 4 - 5 record, but this victory leaves no doubt.

Naz barely beats IC and destroys Rita. Rita pounds IC who beat SF who Rita lost to. That's high school football.

Rita's running attack was reminiscent of years past. They pounded IC's interior and ran well-executed sweeps. Several different players running with the ball, although Junior Brandon Johnson Jr. ran hard, fast and gained a lot of yardage. I noticed OL rotating at times. Keeps them fresh.

Rita's three Sophomores starting on defense were very impressive. Several underclassmen playing on both sides.
