Is it possible to get a sub forum for death notices? It seems like a morbid race to post as soon as the human heart stops beating, sometimes with multiple posters posting the notice at the same time. With 8 billion people on this earth, eventually the board will become one big obituary.

The reason I push #subjectlinesmatter is so that people can skip threads they aren’t interested in.

With a generic RIP thread, we’d have no idea who died. I would think that a standalone thread on the passing of, say, John Wayne would garner a whole lot more views and responses than one mentioning the death of Bill Thurston.

I don't recognize the names of most of the people who get the RIP treatment. So I just keep scrolling and thinking, "There's someone else I never heard of who kicked the bucket".

He came out of the coal regions of Western Pa. Played End, tackle and also kicked. He was integral to the 1912 team that only gave up 6 points enroute to an undefeated 8-0 season. Coach Hollenback credited Threads Forum with being the anchor to that great defense.

They don't make'em like Threads Forum anymore.

And somehow his uniform was never dirty, not a speck of dirt on it ever. Incredible.

What about Thurston Howell the Third?

Of course, he was lost at sea…… not sure they ever pronounced him dead?
