Teachers and government employees don't try to hide or downplay that they are on the government payrolls. That is the main difference. Farmers downplay how much government assistance they receive, while being one of the most vocal groups complaining about other people receiving assistance.
It’s public record you ca go on usda website and search for any landowner or farmer and find out how much money they have received in subsidies, try again

I'm aware of how to look to look up subsidies. Those records are only publicy available because organizations like EWG.org sued to make it public, and then published it.

The issue, for a lot of people is that if farmers don't want "the help" why are they talking it?

It is because they need it? Okay, fair.

So if they take it because they need it, why are they voting against it for other people?

See, they know that they are going to get it no matter what which essentially gives them a "free" vote to mess with others.

Like most groups, they feel like they actually do deserve it at times.

They work hard & put up huge risks, but because they're bottom man on the totem pole & there are many things out of their control, they can get screwed and need help to overcome that.

Unlike some other people who don't even have to work and they get government handouts.

I believe that's what the farmer sees (along with many conservatives in general) & that doesn't seem right in their eyes.

I agree...they see it that way.

There is a very crazy mean poster here on this site, that is very pro farmer but for any other career would just say "You are the retard that picked that profession, you subhuman retard". It is funny how the farmer, because most are deemed to be conservative and republican are not considered "subhuman retards" for picking that profession.

To be fair, you are talking about someone who isn’t mentally sound.

His viewpoints don’t need to be included in a rational discussion.

Not sad he’s gone. He bought up 500,000 acres of the Sandhills. It will never go back to rancher ownership.
All of the TT rural properties are working ranches that pay taxes, employ people, raise bison (using regenerative grazing methods) and are great stewards of the land. What's the problem?

Turner Ranches has properties in 5 states, and by most accounts, his ranches are great neighbors, and they tend to be staffed with local managers and hands.

I have no idea what you mean by "rancher" ownership. Are you saying that only locals should ranches, or that corporations shouldn't own ranches?

Destroys the local tax base and ranch families. Last I knew it was going to be given to the federal government and taken off the property tax rolls which supports local schools.
No it doesn't. Turner Ranches pays property taxes, and he although he could have placed the properties in conservation easements to avoid taxes, he explicitly chose not to do so. Families live on his ranches as managers and hands. His properties aren't going to the federal government; they are remain in his estate.

Everything I have read seems to show that he was a great steward of the land, passionate about it being non-developed and allowed universities to study it. Seems like he really cared.

I had the chance to meet Ted. He's not the famous person I would choose to hang out with if given a choice, but I fully admire his contributions to life and to this country. He did some wonderful things and although CNN was always biased, it was much better under his watch than the modern day when it became a joke.

Right or left (politics) - if everyone could improve their life and the lives of people around them like Ted, we'd be better off.

I dont know where you're going with that?

Are farmers the ones calling others "sub-human retards" or just some rando who is pro-farmer?

If just the rando pro-farmers poster, yeah... he makes no sense.

Begin at the beginning. Took a massive chance on the Station and made it famous by airing Andy Griffith reruns and Georgia Championship Wrestling. Really took off when the Braves had their miracle season.

Quick & interesting take as to why there are fewer farmers. I'm sure we can punch holes in this, but here you go.
