Hall of Fame quarterback Sonny Jurgensen dies at 91

Hall of Fame quarterback Sonny Jurgensen, who has held franchise passing records for Philadelphia and Washington for more than five decades, has died at the age of 91.

Great guy. Sad. Very sad. One of those true old school masters everybody loved.

I was a Redskins fan as a kid . Was PISSED when they played Kilmer over him . For awhile each one got to play a half each game,lol .

I’m at the age were I got to see some of the great quarterbacks of the 60’s and 70’s. Sonny was one of them.

He was quite an efficient, underrated passer. Don't forget the gut!

I’m surprised he got to 91 with all the hard living he was known for. Sonny had a well earned reputation as the fun-loving party boy QBs who always looked out of shape (used to play with a big ole beer gut).

but also one of the greatest arms in football history and a well-earned Hall of Fame spot. And a really likeable guy with hilarious stories.

My favorite from that era is Fran Tarkenton and he’s 86.
