I’m watching Until the End of the World on TCM right this very minute. A fine actor, Reilly Ace of Spies was my introduction to him.

I swiped it from FB. Apparently someone has had this hanging in their RV for several years. It was the first thing I thought of when I heard that he had died.
Well, I’m sure his wife loved it, and the local rabbit population recoiled in horror.

He will be missed…

My Grandson and his wife worked with him (his people) for a year at his vineyard at Two Paddocks to learn the newest science they were using growing and producing grapes.

They absolutely loved the guy. While he wasn't constantly there he interacted with everyone when he was. The pictures and movies they have of that Island are breathtaking.

I have read several pieces about how Neill was a very kind man, nice to everyone. To wit: he’s making this movie and finds out that this minor actor has just had his sole line removed from the script. If you don’t have a line, the producers don’t have to put your name in the credits and you get paid less. So when their scene comes up Neill ad libs in such a way that the actor has to respond, and he does. Afterwards, Neill fights for the line to be kept in the film and, being Sam Neill, wins the argument. The line stays, the actor gets his name in the credits and gets more money.
