The fishbowl arguments are overrated, every power 5 job is going to have its pressures. The key is recruiting and talent development while having the players understand and execute the identity and style of play of the offense and defense. That hasn't happened in a long, long time. Frost recruited well for a while but it's gotta be consistent year after year. Callahan showed you can recruit here and that was before all the games were televised nationally every week. You gotta have maximum effort in recruiting, identify the guys that fit your system but adjust said system to the players strengths/weaknesses.
I don't think by any means Nebraska football is dead. I do think it's a rebuilding job for whoever the next coach is but there's also been such a lowering of standards and expectations that the fishbowl argument goes out the water. Seriously, Nebraska's about to have 4 losing seasons in a row and only now is the coach likely to get canned. If you can't get to a bowl game in 4 seasons, then peace out.
