Had a long run, from Dobie Gillis, Star Trek, Bonnie & Clyde, Roxanne through his last role in the yet t to be released feature The Next Cassavetes.

However, if you really want to see a movie where his talent was actually put to use, I would suggest Little Fauss and Big Halsey (1970) opposite Robert Redford. A box office dud when released, it was actually a great rendition of a "character study" with Pollard and Redford both delivering outstanding performances.

he was great but didn't realize he was that old. LF & BH was a great one. Only a few starring roles, he was in a lot of stuff over the years. Looks like he had a substance abuse problem 3/4 through his career and never really recovered with the kind of roles he had before that. Also inspired Michael J. Fox to use that middle initial.
Credited by Traffic drummer Jim Capaldi with coining the term "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys".
