Idol worshipping much? I’m not having any of that BS. The 1% of the wealthiest live a life of luxury that none of us will ever comprehend.
When you’re so wealthy that’s it’s common practice to fly around in jets and helicopters to grab a burger or a daughters practice then you accepted the risk. It’s called risk times exposure.
You've got over 2500 posts in less than a year on a message board about athletes.
Flying in a helicopter is roughly as safe as riding on a public bus, and much safer than driving. Safer than taking a private plane.
Maybe you can look for something else to rail against, or at least respectfully sit this one out.
Fair enough, but those that lament or feel a sense of mourning for someone, for whatever (reasonable) reason, shouldn’t be mocked.
I spent countless hours watching Kobe on TV and playing with/against his teams on NBA games. That will always feel different to me from now on, and that feels kinda ******. He provided hours of entertainment for me with no cost of my end.
Eight other people dead. Including his daughter.
Still no public statement from the family.
Players all over the league are sitting out.
Maybe his friends, family and the organization know more about Kobe and what is needed right now than you do.
well not according to what I saw today. I was doing some work at the UofM campus and had some free time. It was in passing so I’d have to look again to remember the source but if you fly helicopters 20+ hours per week for 20 years, it’s extremely dangerous. Can’t remember the fatality rate, but it blew my mind.
Kobe was asking for trouble flying in helicopters that much, imo.
and let’s be honest. Vehicles aren’t safe, but Kobe more than likely would have never drove himself, and would be been in large sized vehicles. He’d probably be fine right now had he opted to be driven in a limo that day.
That’s great and all, but can you imagine the families of the other victims rn? People are acting as if Kobe and Gianna are the only ones that died. The rest of the people’s lives on that chopper were just as important. The saddest part of it for me is that there were so many young teenagers on that flight that had so much life ahead of them. Multiple children were made orphans in the blink of an eye. Kobe was able to cement a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come. He was able to enjoy his MULTIPLE millions and live life to the fullest. A lot of people would trade years off their life for that opportunity. The least they could have done with that billboard is include the words “RIP Kobe, Gianna, AND all other passengers involved in this tragedy”. The other victims deaths are being dramatically overshadowed because they were on the same flight as Kobe Bryant.Louisville paid respects

What exactly would they even say? Or what we would want them to say? Obviously they’re mourning the loss of their father and daughter. Of course, they’re thankful for the thoughts, prayers and support. I hope they don’t feel any pressure to release a statement. The family should handle this however they want to.I don't think the family owes us a statement. Definitely not one only 3 days after this has happened. Do they really need to come out say thank you to everyone for their support and all the other things people say when tragedies happen. It goes without saying that they appreciate all the condolences and support they are getting.
Let them grieve. Let them grieve for 5 days, 50 days, 500 days. However long it takes them to find whatever it is they need. I can speak from having lost a child, but there are no words. To have lost my wife and child together? My goodness. There aren't words.
I didn’t say they had to run an hour long segment of the other victims on sportscenter. Obviously Kobe is on there because he played sports. I believe what I said is that the least they could have done is add the words “and all other victims involved” to that board. Why that gets under your skin so bad, I’ll never understand. Yes, we have differing opinions. Now move along. We could go back and forth all day but obviously you’re the one who lacks understanding. No one is acting like the other lives aren’t important. People don’t know the other victims. They know Kobe.
Had the others died in some other way, only their families would have mourned them. Which is normal, and okay. If anything, their deaths are getting far more attention than they would have because of their link to Kobe.
But they will never get as much attention as Kobe’s. There’s no reason to think they should. If it bothers you so much, put up your own billboard.

Ok so now I'm watching Sportscenter and before they go to K talking and Dook highlights they actually say, Kobe said, If he had gone to college it would ave been to Dook. LMFAO So the other day it was mentioned and the actual quote was Dook would have been among his top choices. Of course, remember that I think Kobe said that when he was an adult and had played for K in the Olympics as a grown man. ESPN is gross with their agenda. We all know you love Dook but stop twisting a man's words who's gone now.ESPN has no shame.
Under the heading saying Kobe killed in a helicopter accident, it says Kobe said if he had gone to college Dook would have been one of his top choices. WTF? Who cares? So it would have been one of his top five choices and that's a title you put up with him and his daughter dying yesterday. ESPN is scum.

I never said they "owe" us a statement. What a pompous a$$ I'd be if I said that. All I said is that we haven't heard from her and I imagine she's in denial. Pretty simple.
It’s not about the other 7 people. I haven’t heard the first NBA player mention the rest unless just in passing. The media either, honestly. And I wouldn’t expect a statement from his family. They lost Gigi who was 13.
I’m fine with whatever they want to do, I just personally believe life goes on, and Kobe would have played his game had someone died in the league.
it honestly doesn’t matter though. Just sad for them it’s honestly a lot to take.

you’re not wrong except for the last part. There’s definitely a reason they should. Also definitely a reason they don’t.
Vanessa hasn't said anything, but she just changed her Instagram profile picture to a picture of Kobe and GiGi. Sad Sad Sad. Pic on TMZ.
You follow her on Instagram?
i wonder how many new followers she’s gotten lol.

Not really an "lol" moment.
The "LOL" was the part of being condescending. Seems to be easy for him while hiding behind a computer.
