Coach Davis was one of the nicest men you could ever meet. I knew him all while I was growing up as he attended the same church in Jackson as I. His son was my age and we played HS football together. Tough as nails on the field but great to everyone off it. He and his brother Art did a lot to convince me to go to MSU. Lots of respect, Coach!

Art Davis was his younger brother. I don't know if he's still living or not...yes, he was a great bulldog

Mr. Art just moved back to Starkville within the past 2 months. Grew up with his son and went to Starkville Academy together... Coach Harper was a gem... They were our answer to the Poole family on the Plantation...

Great athletes.. Great Ambassadors of Mississippi State...
