This one hurts. Was luck to see him play in person at the 73 All Star Game in KC as a kid. Vaya con Dios Hammering Hank.

His career RBI record - just short of 2,300 - might be even more impressive than the HR mark. Ruth and Pujols are the only other players to even top 2,100.

He did all his accomplishments with out roids, I still can remember watching him hit number 715 such a great man he seemed very humble

I saw Hank at an Arby’s in Milwaukee about 25 years ago. It was in a food court. I said ā€œOh hey - Hi Hank!ā€

He said: ā€œHow you doing’; Welcome to Arby’sā€.

Not lying. It was cool.

Read and heard stories of his class off the field. He is amongst the handful of greatest ever on the field and all he did off the field, was better. RIP and prayers for his family and friends.
