Yep. He’s a great example of how quickly racist views can cost you in modern America.

I always thought it was odd that Imus got such a hard time for his remarks in 2007. I also thought it was odd that many Americans didn’t know what a shock jock was. If Howard Stern had said the same thing, it doesn’t even make the news cycle. I didn’t know much about the guy until I read a detailed article about him today. Eccentric for sure, but he did a lot of good in his life, it seems.

Firing Imus for racist riffs would be like firing Liberace for flamboyance. It’s what he did.
[h=1]Imus Ranch[/h]From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Imus Ranch was a working cattle ranch of nearly 3,000 acres (1,200 ha) located in Ribera, New Mexico, 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Santa Fe.[SUP][1][/SUP] Between 1998–2014, it was the site of a non-profit charitable program for seriously ill children, founded by long-time radio personality Don Imus and his wife, Deirdre. The charitable organization sought to ensure the continuity of the lives of children afflicted with cancer or serious blood diseases.[SUP][1][/SUP] The charity's goal was to provide children ages 10–17 with an experience of living life on a functioning cattle ranch free of charge, to build up the child's self-confidence and sense of accomplishment, in the company of similar children facing serious illness.[SUP][2][/SUP] In later years, it also opened to siblings of SIDS victims. It was incorporated in New York State and registered as a non-profit organization under subsection 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. It closed following the 2014 season.
The former ranch property was initially offered for sale for $32 million in October 2014. Not having sold by 2017, the Ranch was put up for auction by Thomas Industries, Inc., an industrial auction house that specializes in auctioning off printing companies. The ranch was listed for sale as a combined acreage of the Foundation, the Imuses personal property, and State leased adjoining land totaling almost 3,000 acres.[SUP][3][/SUP] The deadline for auction was originally set for June 15, 2017, with a minimum bid of $5 million.[SUP][4][/SUP] The ranch was finally sold to Patrick Gottsch, owner of RFD-TV, in April, 2018, for $12.5 million.[SUP][5][/SUP]
A portion of the historic Santa Fe Trail passes through the ranch.

He’s a great example of how quickly liberal America can pounce on something and ruin someone. One incident over a very long career does not make someone a racist. Quite honestly, people have cheapened that word to the point that everyone who is not a liberal is racist. They have completely taken the power of that word away. When I see the media call someone racist now, I complete ignore it.

The demand for Racism is far greater than the Supply. So any little off color remark will result in a feeding frenzy by the liberal media.
