Sometimes it's really small things that help make a performance great. In this scene, watch from the 10-second mark for a few seconds. He knows the gun dual is coming. Like how he quickly rubs his trigger finger with his thumb, and how he gets up from the rocking chair so gracefully, exuding the confidence you'd expect from a cocky gunfighter.
