OSU's secondary has talent but they've been prone to giving-up the big play in latter periods.
GA had a scare tonight anyway
They've been monsters for two years and only Bama dinged them once
OSU had a shot but I think GA was just better all-around

That was the biggest choke of any kicker I've seen in a while. His legs were shaking before the ball was snapped.

Pitt field goal kicker had to make 5 field goals to beat UCLA.

Ohio State needs to get a good field goal kicker.

I thought Ohio State only gets Rival 5/4 Star recruits.

What happened.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

I can’t stand when teams playing with desperation manage to get downfield to theoretical “field goal range” (but which is actually a pretty long field goal), then, due to fear of a mistake, change strategy from what got them there and miss an opportunity to get into easy field goal range.

It still bothers me that Rutgers did it at the end of regulation in the 2006 WVU game, and OSU did the same thing tonight.

So.. you are saying the Pitt FG kicker should get an NIL offer from OSU.. okaaaay.

Yes

If Ohio State wants to win get the Pitt kicker.

Hey we lost our Biletnikoff Award winner last year NIL ( WR Jorden Addison) who went to USC.

Is he going to win the award again this year.

Pitt will just get another Rival 3-star and coach him up.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

The Harrison injury changed the game for sure. Where is the d in any of these games?
I think this shows that with enough time.. a competent O can scout, plan and practice to beat a good D.

And on the D side.. I swear TCU knew what was coming a few times vs Michigan. You could see it.. a certain look. the D shifted confidently and read the play perfectly. That was bad OC stuff.. my guess.. that they run certain plays from certain formations with certain personnel too often for it to be a coincidence and some great film scout on TCU caught them and trained up the D for it.

BS that Georgia was just better. No way they win that if Harrison is in there.

GA hasn't lost to anyone in a long time and OSU got blasted by Michigan.
OSU's secondary has been crappy all year and a lot was written about it
I'm not surprised OSU's secondary blew the game

"By the end of Saturday’s 45-23 win for the Wolverines in The Game, there were several areas at which blame could be pointed. But perhaps first and foremost was the play of the Ohio State secondary, which gave up big plays far too frequently, including the first three Michigan touchdowns.

The Buckeye secondary didn’t just give up big plays. It had major miscues, breakdowns and blunders that left pass catchers without a defender within five yards of them on multiple occasions, resulting in game-wrecking plays and momentum-shifting moments all too often"

It looked like the kicker wasn't back far enough, so when he reached the ball for the kick he was too close to it. A total knuckle ball, didn't even have the distance let alone splitting the uprights. That is a tough way to lose a game. OSU fans and players must be hurting.

No

Pitt fields teams that are composed of Rival 3-star players.

Michigan and Ohio State teams are composed of Rival 5/4 Star Players.

Michigan and Ohio State can put 100,000 fans in the stands and Pitt can't.

However, TCU and Georgia beat them.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

OSU did not embarrass the conference at all. they outplayed the best team in the country on their de-facto home field most of the game, lost their best player & a TD on a BS non target call, and still should have won with a game ending field goal.
That said, I am glad they lost.
will be interesting to see how Penn State does tomorrow , but the other 5 teams in the Big Ten all won their Bowl Games.

No doubt TCU knew certain run plays were coming - I think they just said on BTN that TCU had 13 TFLs which is crazy. I thought the biggest difference in the game - other than the 2 pick sixes and the blown TD call for Roman Wilson - was TCU blitzing was more effective than Michigan’s. TCU outschemed Michigan on defense. That’s good coaching

Michigan and Ohio State pick on the weak teams in the conference but can't get the job done in the playoffs. Both were great games. Neither one of them could give 2 ***** about us. Let me return the favor. F them.
Sure, if you like Arena football, no friggin' defense with offense running up and down the field with no resistance. If that's your thing, great games. That was the TCU/Mich game 2nd half. 1st half was actually pretty good.

it is what college football is now and, barring a rule change, this is how it is going to be.

I’m sure Schiano hates watching these kinds of games too, because he refuses to evolve even when a successful coach he is supposedly friendly with like Saban is smart enough to adapt even in the middle of being successful.

I am sure everyone on this board will be rooting for Penn State in the Rose Bowl to avenge our conference’s honor after that Michigan and OSU humiliation.
I don’t get the argument that last night’s games were some kind of embarrassment for the B1G. It must be people outside the B1G resentful of their revenue/coverage or fans from other teams inside the conference that hate OSU and Michigan.

Michigan lost a game they were favored in where they didn’t play well but still had the ball at the end with a chance to win despite handing TCU 14 points on pick sixes.

OSU played very well against a team that was expected to beat them soundly, and missed a tough but makeable FG to win at the end of the game.

Neither of those games were the usual playoff semifinal blowouts like when ND is there, and anyone watching them without bias would recognize we weren’t that far from one or both B1G teams making the final.

I thought the gist of this thread was sarcasm, no?

Or if the kicker/holder didn’t choke
I feel bad for the kid. He is pretty accurate but doesn’t appear to have a big leg (the 48 yarder he made earlier didn’t clear the crossbar by that much).

OSU did a poor job of making that an easier FG. What would have been a 47 yarder at 23 seconds and 2 timeouts they turned into a 49 yarder and ended the game with a timeout in their pocket. Why just drop Stroud straight back on 2nd and 3rd down when Georgia’s pass rush had been getting better, but Stroud had been successful scrambling and running and you had a timeout to stop the clock?

That's what I thought.

As to Utah PSU, I'll be rooting for Utah because I like underdog stories. I was rooting for TCU yesterday for the same reason. Utah gave OSU all they could handle last year but fell short so it would be a nice story for them to come back and get a win this year.
