We had a ring the bell post from Joe tonight, only for it to be deleted from his account an hour later, anyone know what happened?

Cole Smith's transfer? LSU Center transferred to MSU as a walkon. Has to sit out this season.

No, I suspect it's the big time LB from Co Lin. Wheat I believe is

his name.

So with Wheat we will have 9 JUCOs, assuming Patterson does not make it. More than you like to see, but this shows you the depth of the problem Mullen created with his gapped up recruiting. I didn't want him to leave in the short term (because of the 2018 team), but it's appearing that, due to his attitude, he left at a good time for the long term health of the program.

Moorhead's done everything he could do to mitigate this, with the transfers and the JUCOs. I hope they hit or 2020 could get out of hand.

Yeah, it also drove me crazy when Mullen would consistently fail to use his allotment of available scholarships. Going low one year in order free up space for a class that’s loaded with talent the following year is one thing. However, Mullen seemed to rarely use up the spots he had, and he also seemed to always be scrambling at the last minute to get at least get a couple key positions(like OL) in the boat

I don’t know if the ‘20 class is an indication of Joe’s long term strategy or not, but I like having a class mostly filled out at this point in the year so that his staff can somewhat pick and choose the rest of the way. It also mostly prevents a mad scramble when you do miss out on a blue chipper and/or have a guy flip late in the cycle

why is that a problem.. have you not paid attention to our JUCOs lately? ****--it is an opportunity for us to be more competitive. Mississippi has the best Juco football in the World--so let's take advantage of them. NO PROBLEM.

5-7 is not a problem, as a matter of fact I think we should sign that many every single year, for the reasons you state.

9 is a little high, and is indicative of a depth problem, or an unusual amount of JUCO talent. It's the first one more often than not. It could all turn out fine, I hope it does.

So so which JUCO do you want to cull? A good football player is a good football player. If we could sign 12 Jucos a year I would be good with that as long as the are quality Players.
