Curious to see the amount of **** I get for this, but I am serious. Have you all watched the way Martinez has played and the offensive play calling combined with convenient flags thrown? Specifically on running plays, where holding can be called at literally any time.
The past couple seasons it has been more obvious in the NFL, only because you know the quarterbacks are elite, but you can still see it in college. Have you watched games where the best QBs in the nation have unexplainably struggled against easy teams? (Trevor Lawrence) (Martinez) (Justin Fields easing up today when he still had 10 years of pass blocking in a marquee matchup)???
I’m not accepting the easy explanation of “oh well he’s just not right in the head this year”. “oh the offensive line is just worse, cuz ya know...more sacks, and more bad reads in the run game” ”Oh it’s just a great defensive scheme that theyve been running the ENTIRE SEASON” (Illinois) No. This game is now corporate, this game is now political, this game is now rigged. Tanner Lee had a longer than deserved shot in the NFL. Adrian Martinez is good, when he wants to be...you can see him run slower, get sacked, and throw at a 6’6” tight end’s feet 3 feet in front of him when he wants to, which no QB in my flag football league would even do...those plays have ended drives. I can’t be the only one seeing this.
I’ve already experienced how poorly received this is with my die hard husker fans (myself being one as well) I’ve owned a house in South Omaha for 8 years now, so go ahead and bag on this being my first post, and how I must be a troll, it doesn’t matter to me. The more people that see this, the quicker it will go away.
If you actually watch the games and assume the script, it makes the most sense in the world. not just saying this as a pissed off fan of this season, but Ive been noticing it with other teams. (IE: the Colorado game, both QBs straight flip flopped playing styles in the second half) first half there are quick passes, no time to notice a bad offensive line, and the ball moves, teams score and it looks EASY...) As a player of the game, I know this is not how it goes, you can’t honestly tell me you see this many second half improvements/adjustments in a high school game.
I’ve seen posters on here talking about Vegas “bating” them into bets and such, I believe that is real, what we see on the field is no longer a real product and possibly hasn’t been since the 70’s When there were actually way more blowouts. now it’s just made for tv ********. Lookup the NFL since the 70’s, there were astronomically more blowouts in superbowls, that seemed to go away with the flip of a switch...lookup the teams that have won superbowls since the 70’s...you’ll find ONE team won the Super Bowl exactly 3 times in each decade without fail... The patriots winning 3 times both the past 2 decades right after 9/11. What are the odds?
Again, I’ve heard all the nay sayers about this topic, and I don’t care, look at the facts and think about the odds, and let’s get real with ourselves. We’re being played for fools.
