I don't know about the rest of you but I'm tired of this constant foul disparity on the road. Tech's game plan is to drive to the goal every time knowing the fouls will be called. Why would the Cards top three big men have to foul these guys? All three had two fouls on them and there was still seven minutes to go in the half.

I swear I don't know how Pitino doesn't lead the nation in T's. I would go nuts telling those refs they are helping with Tech's game plan. Half of their points are from the line. It's ridiculous!

To be fair, I think WE are helping with their game plan more than any refs. You are right, they are driving aggressively, and we are fouling them...often by reaching as they drive by. That's on us, to stay in front of them, and to be quicker on helping out when they get by the perimeter defender.

The last call on Mahmoud was the worst call of the game, the ref actually blew the whistle before Mahmoud even attempted to block the shot. I had to rewind it several times because I was schocked at what I was seeing. CRP needs to take that clip to the commissioner of the ACC and complain about this, they are ruining the game.

This game took 2 1/2 hours to play because of all the fouls! I love college basketball but watching a free throw shooting contest for almost 3 hours was very difficult. It is games like this that have turned me into a football fan first and basketball second. I believe basketball officials can and do control the outcome of a game a lot more tha football officials.

The Mid-American Conference suspended two officials who failed to make any kind of call during the final seconds of a double-overtime game between Eastern Michigan and Ball State. I bet they'll do a better job if and when they get back on the court.

Every officiating crew interprets the rules differently. Nanu had to terrible calls against him that woouldn't have been fouls with other crews. That video above he is in the process of blocking out while Lewis driving that isn't a foul. The fact the VT did the same thing 10 other times with no call is the problem. Then earlier he has established his position and jumps straight up arms extended called for blocking. The offensive player created the contact just because Nanu didn't fall down or stay on the ground doesn't make it a block.

Officials have no clue how to call blocking or charging when an offensive players creates contact when both players are moving. A ball handler can't just veer into a defensive player even if that defensive player is moving. That is either a no call or charging. Again some crews understand it other don't which leads to inconsistency.

There a bunch of fouls by both teams it is just the inconsistency that drives everyone nuts.

I agree on the continual find a foul must be a foul anticipate a call mentality. It sucks to watch and can't imagaine playing in that environment. But what about the ref physically snatching the ball away from Lee? I'm sorry fellows but I prob would have gotten T'd up. He was a pure a-hole. Unnecessary disposition IMO. But we won so all is right in the world....bring on Virg!

Verticality is a emphasis this year. The defensive player has a right to his cylinder of influence. Nanu clearly stayed within his cylinder of space and should not have been called for blocking. Many of Va Tech driving scores were a result of running the defender off the interior teammate, which should be called as illegal. The only time it was called was against Nanu but Nanu didn't even touch the penetration defender, he boxed out his defender who fell in to the penetration defender.

I agree that the officiating was horrible but looking from the other side, Lee is an expert of driving his shoulder into an opposing player who is moving or not set. More than likely he gets that call every time and he initiates the contact.

The aggressive defensive play that has defined us over the last 5 years is not welcome in the ACC. Agree with others that the pre-emptive road whistle has to be addressed. Especially on Mahmoud and Spalding. While they are raw defensively at times, once they move in the direction of a ball handler in the paint....the referee exhale is initiated reflexively it seems.

The foul calling sucked last night. Someone should rate these referees performance. Although no-one like a game called so close the difference in fouls was not that bad. We shot 34 free throws and they shot 38. I believe we were called for 26 fouls and they had 28. Not a big difference. My problems were the type of fouls being called. This is the ACC. C'mon guys let them play. They knocked down the shot clock to create more scoring and more fast play and then call nearly 55 fouls. That is ridiculous

If one of my employees screws up, they are given a warning - first verbal, then written, then final, then "good luck in your search for new employment." Nothing of the sort exists in sports. It's frustrating.

Actually the disparity was 13 or 14 with 2:57 left in the game. Which kept the game close.
