Rider: Tidbits

- Rider is 3-8.

- Their 3 wins are against Kutztown; Coppin State and DE. State - not exactly a murderers' row.

- Notable losses ave occurred against Duquense (by 8 pts); South Carolina (by 7 points); Ole Miss (by 24 points) and Iona (by 26 points).

- Leading scorers are Dwight Murray (Sr G) and Dimenico Vaughn (Gr F) who both average 13 PPG

- AD is Don Harnum who succeeded Kevin Bannon as HC when he left for RU

- HC is Kevin Baggett who has been there for about 10 years.


We should win by at least 20 and I hope to see a lot of Jones; Mag; Miller etc in this game.

If Jones doesn’t move without the basketball and look like he’s a level above the opposing players on Rider today….it’s cause for alarm imo.
There’s a lot of basketball IQ, vision and knack you’re born with, gotta see it.
I’m adamant spacial awareness and savvy can not be taught.
I can see it in 7 year old rec girls softball players.

I think that is true of the very best. I have Many stories supporting that but one kid stood out. No one in the family played or knew anything about sports yet this girl (an average student btw) just had sports smarts. One day as about a 9 or 10 year old she walked up to me and told me she knew when the other team was going to bunt. She was stealing signs On her own!
