It was another public forum for Pitino to emphasize he knew nothing and is still shocked by the allegations and what a tragedy it was for the 2 seniors. I hope he truly knew nothing because if he knew what was going on McGee could bury him and his career.

UNLV would still hire him the very minute the NCAA dropped his show cause...they're Little Brothel West :pimp:

It's up on Mike and Mike's facebook page apparently if someone wants to see it. From the angle of the vid it looks like Katina might have been doing the filming.

I just watched it. I didn't think he was taking a shot at Kentucky. I think he was saying that they simply don't need to do anything like what they did. He's talking about Andre McGee. Why would you feel the need to go to this extra length when we're not trying to get the guys Kentucky is getting. I just need you to entertain Russ Smith and Terry Rozier and they will come to Louisville. They won't come here because of hookers. That's how I took it.

The point is he constantly drops our name and tries to associate it with his cesspool.

Oh, make no mistake that was a backhanded statement from Pitino. Pull back far enough on the logic and you'll see that he's saying we need to do 'extra things' to get our recruits. He seals that statement by saying that UL doesn't.

if he truely knew nothing then UL is guilty of Lack Of Institutional Control, a status that in some ways the NCAA takes a more harsh treatment towards than if a coach & administration actively knows about and participates in cheating.

His only concern is getting himself clean for his next job as he is on the way out. UL fans & Jurich are too stupid to see this is why he is constantly flapping his gums about this investigation despite being told to shut up, he can't stop trying to clear his own name even if it hangs UL.

If Jurich had a thread of decency left he would dismiss Pitino.

Bingo! We have a winner!

Lord Turtleneck has proven with the handling of Pitino's entry in to the world of porn....he has no morals or he wouldn't let the program
suffer through this. I have said since the day that Da Vile hired Pitino. There is bad karma over on Floyd St. Pitino never welcomed the
HOF coach that he replaced in the program. Pitino's ego wouldn't let him embrace Denny Crum.

One thing is for sure, he has already proven capable of paying someone to keep quiet (Sypher until she got greedy). What would stop him now from paying McGee to stay quiet?

Someone posted Hawaii's infractions from back in the 70's. He was involved with "improper entertainment of recruits" back then. So this isn't his first entry in to the world of cheating and slime.

I agree, a clear lack of institutional control. He makes it clear every chance he speaks he knew nothing about what was going on. Golic tried questioning this but he did a nice deflection.

I don't think he was taking a shot at UK, but what he said IS disingenuous as hell. No, they're not going after Anthony Davis or Karl Towns, but they ARE going after Blakeney, the five-star kid from Seattle who transferred out last season, Rozier, Behanan, etc.

Golic said something to the effect of ... don't you have people in charge of monitoring players? Pitino went right back to blaming McGee. Apparently they had a rogue director of basketball operations on the basketball staff.

We don't recruit one and done like Kentucky, we recruit the Russ Smith's of the world.

I am so sick of hearing his nonsense. He tried to recruit Lyles and Teague, who were both one and done, and a lot of this mess is over his recruitment of Blakeney, who will probably also be one. He just can't seal the deal when you compare getting better and then drafted high, when you go to UK, with a ***** for a day, if you go to UL. Plus, he needs to shut up about Russ Smith, since some of those incriminating pictures are him with ****** in Minardi Hall.

The "we recruit the Russ Smiths of the world" sounds like a defense of why something like Katinagate might happen at U of L. Rick knows who is listening to Mike and Mike, it's a national audience. Hey America, we know you can't get Anthony Davis with a lap dance and a side session, but Terry Rozier?
Both Smith and Rozier were involved with the hookers, the girls talked about Rozier's size

It's a shame to see an individual, with a previously good reputation, exposed for what he evidently has turned out to be. A no conscious huckster.

What is there about UL that breeds such a low life atmosphere from the president on down to the athletic program and fans. Or could it be the athletic programs drag the rest of the administration and fans down?

There isn't any excuse for tolerating the reputation and behavior of Pitino and to a lesser degree Petrino. If Jurich had a thread of decency left he would dismiss Pitino.
Jurich is the head of the Cartel, that's when the criminal activity took off after his hire, then he was joined with Bugsy Pitino and they took over Jefferson County Crime ,Bootlegging,Prostitution,Drugs,Embezzling,Gambling all part of UL's MO

I think we should all send him some "Fan" Mail to UL Athletic Dept and let him know that Kentucky had nothing to do with his Crooked dealings ,unless you count the pressure put on him to keep up with Kentucky by the retards at the Little Red ***** Island

You know, it should be that simple, but I'm not certain it is. With the new standard that the NCAA adopted a few years back....people want to sort of summarize it by calling it a "known or should have known" standard. It takes away the "plausible deniability" concept - no longer can a coach just tell someone to "get it done and I don't want to know anything." That's how the nailed both Larry Brown and Beoheim.

But I've read elsewhere that what the NCAA is really trying to get at is culture - does a school have a culture of compliance, do they have rules and procedures and employees in place in ways to minimize risk? If they do, then no one could reasonably expect a coach to be responsible for everything under the sun. All he can do is try very hard to have a compliant school and program - and if he does, he won't get spanked.

That's no doubt what Louisville and Pitino are trying to establish. Given all that, and the unpredictable history of the NCAA, I think they still hold out hope of getting off fairly lightly. Time served (self-imposed ban this year) plus a few games suspension for Pitino, maybe a couple of other trifling items. That's it. And if that's it, Pitino will definitely be back.....

Someone help me.

When he says we don't go after OAD Types like UK, how much research would it have taken one of those little staffers for white&mike to find and slide a little note or shoot a quick email of all the OAD players he has gone after, like ummmmm, maybe Blakeney who was even involved in the mess, has an interview with the NCAA, and even committed to Louisville after a hooker su***d him off?

Maybe 15 seconds of work to find it.

Hell, I'm still waiting on liberal greenie to give up his job to affirmative action. Mike and Mike it too white!! Right?

I didn't hear the interview, but what you say is kind of the thought that was forming in my head. But look at how USAToday is covering this. You know Cal is not going to let this just pass by without comment.

"Rick Pitino on recruiting scandal: 'We didn't need this to get recruits. You know we're not Kentucky'

Here’s one from Rick Pitino that may sit badly with Kentucky fans.

In an interview with Mike and Mike, the Louisville coach was asked what he’s going to tell the NCAA when they question him about an investigation into claims that a former graduate assistant coach used prostitutes and stripper parties to recruit players to the program. His response:

“Well I’m going to tell them that — and it will sound a little bizarre to them — I’ve been a believer in these rules for over 30 years. As a matter of fact, people call me a little bit of a micromanager. We’ve had the highest GPA now in three different conferences every year … we run an extremely disciplined program so there’s a tremendous contradiction of this going on. And to say it breaks my heart would be putting it mildly … if I could just get Andre McGee in a room for 10 minutes I’d say ‘why? why would you do this? What purpose did it serve? We didn’t need this to get recruits. You know we’re not Kentucky where we’re recruiting the one-and-dones. We’re recruiting the Russ Smiths of the world. He’s a two-star athlete who becomes a first team college All-American. Gorgui Dieng, starting for the Minnesota Timberwolves wasn’t ranked in the top 75 … so we have a different way we recruit and it didn’t make any sense what was going on. How these women infiltrated our program was very disturbing to me.”

The funny thing is UL fans will eat this up. When just a few months they were giddy that Fox had UL in his final 8, or something.

After he asks Andre "Why?", perhaps he could follow that question up with how did Andre manage to orchestrate all of the sex parties over a period of 4 years and keep everyone from knowing about it, even Rick the self admitted micro manager. That is truly a remarkable feat.

Pitino is a Lying sack of **** and I'm sick of his shots at and references of Kentucky with his deflective answers and ******** subtly trying to make it look like those evil whores infiltrated our perfect ,wonderful students Minardi Hall and raped them. Never Mind Preston Knowles the Domestic Violence King,or Samardo Samuels who didn't attend classes and dove a boosters car around ,or Rapist Chris Jones,or Chane Behannan the Drug Dealer, among all those non one and dones like Antonio Blakney,Trey Lyles,Jaquan Lyle,Marquis Teague, and a long list of others.
I'll bet if someone dug deep they'd find that GPA ******** is a lie too, they've been pulling a UNC on classes.
UK should file a Libel /slander law suit for his false insinuations.By the way LIAR Rick,Kentucky had a Higher GPA every year better than your precious angels.

He's such a lying sack of stillborn cockroaches.... Blakeney and Lyle... two of the 3 recruits who came forward are the exact level of players that Cal recruits. and whats hilarious is that the NCAA is watching. They know whats up and from the sounds of the NCAA employee OTL talked to.... the NCAA is furious at Pitino.
