You say " most of the folks " It only takes one to do that. People usually hear what they want to. I know I will get a lot of flak for even replying, but this is such a childish thing.

Saying that Pitino is greatly exaggerating the degree of nastiness is hilarious. I've seen to much on these boards to go along with that.lol

It's obvious that your method of making your point is with a lot "lol"s and trying to belittle the opposite proposition. There is nothing on the audio that is nasty. "Lol." The lower level at Rupp is not a particular nasty. "Lol." Pitino will likely get worse treatment at Duke but he won't complain about that because he doesn't need to advance an agenda. "Lol."

I was fortunate enough to be invited to the game by a friend with great tickets. 3 rows behind Pitino's seat.

The worst thing I heard was the guy next to me yell "should've found better looking girls" after we went up 16. That's it. That's the list.

Everyone else spent most of the game yelling at the refs.

Maybe something else was said as he walked off the court, but there is nothing in the audio of those two videos to suggest that.

Smooth talk? Hardly. If I were a ULOL fan, I don't think I could stomach hearing all the half truths and over-exaggerations, and just plain smug comments. Pair that with an ongoing major scandal, the team playing absolutely NOBODY and losing to the two decent teams they've played......I'd be sick of hearing the man talk.

When Pitino took the helm at Louisville, he undoubtedly imagined a world where he dominated Kentucky, especially when he looked across the court and saw Tubby Smith and Billy Gillispie after him.

Then Calipari happened. For a narcissist like Pitino, the move pulverized his soul. He now looks every bit the part of the caricatured egocentric.

I don't remember Pitino owning Tubby?

He thought he would though . Hence the " getting rid of tubby will set them back ten years " comment. He REALLY wanted tubby to remain here . Then he publicly recommended Pelfry or Travis Ford for the job . Have you ever heard an opposing coach talk about another program as much as Pitino does Kentucky? Other coaches rarely mention their former programs , much less give them advice on hiring . ( unless asked by former program).

The POS tried to con us into hiring Pelphrey or Ford... Rip that banner down. He disgraces Rupp Arena.

emotional because he wants to beat bbn so bad, wants to stick it in our eye (for daring to oppose him) with such yearning, that when we repeatedly deny him an outlet for these raging desires it just leaves him an emotional wreck...hence the flipping of the bird as well as the skipping of the press conference
pRick's not emotional because he has fond memories about his time here. it's not nostalgia emotion; it's spite emotion, and the backed up bile is turning him into Skeletor before our very eyes

Yes, because it is somewhat funny. I never mentioned anything about the audio, I referred to the things that was and has been said on this board. BTW were there any boos? I'm asking because it would be hard to hear anything that was said seems to me. It really doesn't matter to me and it was really hilarious. It rates right up there with "My daddy can whip your daddy," I tried not to use the lol as it disturbs you. Have a good day.

This, basically saying we got lucky.

When you are 8-1 against a coach, that isn't luck.

He had already said in his UL postgame, that we hit shots that we would not allow his players to take. I like where he asked the crowd to come out and support them against a very dangerous Wake Forest. This is the same WF that lost to Vandy by 22, at home, and also lost to Richmond, at home. He is just too eager to put UK behind him and get into the ACC.

There was nothing "nasty" or "profane" said within earshot of pitino before or during the game. I mean, the refs had much better reason to flip off the crowd than pitino did.

If booing is the threshold for flipping someone off, then every coach in America should just keep their middle finger up.

If you are replying to my post, I wasn't inferring that Pitino was upset because of booing. Just saying that if the fans were booing, how would anyone know what was said. OK?

Actually he is the perfect leader for U of L and hope he coaches through the rest of his contract. He cannot beat UK, his actions are killing his ability to recruit along with his inability to develop players for the NBA, and he is such a mess off the court it impairs his ability to do the one thing he is decent at which is coach. Talk about Karma.

As I said earlier, I was sitting right behind him. From 10 minutes before tip until he walked off the court, I can confirm nothing nasty was directed at him.

Not sure what proof you have that lets you continue to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it's not as solid as mine.

He was unhinged the entire game. And he let it get the better of him as he walked off to the "1-9" comment. End. Of. Story.

Unless you wanna believe one of the biggest (known) liars in all of sports.

No big deal folks.....That was just Slick Rick's "Pimp Signal" to Katina in Rupp letting her know he will be back to the Minardi Pimpin Cave soon where she can play with his utility belt.

Boos aren't a big deal. I don't like when fans boo college kids but coaches, especially ones who are paid 6 million dollars per year, are fair game. You said it's "hilarious" that I said Pitino is likely exaggerating the abuse he took. It's ironic that you find the idea of Pitino exaggerating anything to be "hilarious." Pitino may be more prone to exaggeration than any coach in the country. For example, Pitino claimed that Mike Mara was the greatest outsider shooter he had ever seen. Even UofL fans make fun of his history of exaggerating. So the idea that he would exaggerate the fan abuse shouldn't be "hilarious" to you. There's the video of him walking off the court and you can't hear any abuse shouted at him other than "one and nine."

Ok...I know what happened.

Someone near me yelled, "Hey, Rick: Cal's beaten you 8 times since you've been at UofL. How many times have you beaten him?"

Being all "emotional" he just couldn't bear to verbalize it so he decided to just respond non-verbally.

Ok, this part had me rolling:

Now there is one last thing to say about Pitino's actions: there is at least a small chance that maybe, just maybe, he didn't flip off fans on his way out of the arena. The video isn't totally, 100 percent clear, and after the game Pitino did send a text message to ESPN's Dana O'Neil simply saying that he was making a "No. 1" gesture on his way out of the arena.
To which I say.... my God, give me a break. Is this guy for real? Does Pitino actually expect that any of us to believe it? If he's going to lie about stuff, I wish he'd at least make up a good lie, like "I can't remember, I was rushing out of the arena to bring my pet unicorn to the vet's office" or "I can't answer that question, I'm too busy at home spending quality time with my wife."

He hit it out of the park. Hope it gets tweeted and retweeted.
Yep...he absolutely nailed it on every point. It's easy to see how he gets a pass in louavull and uavel since that institution is devoid of morals. But the national media would normally be all over this like a fat kid on a cupcake...this is the kind of stuff they just eat up. I don't get it.

Pitino says that some were yelling some ugly things at him. Actually, I find that believable. Having said that, it doesn't in any way excuse his response. He should have just continued walking.

I'm not gonna lie. I'd have done the same thing if I was Rick. It must be incredibly hard hard to lose REPEATEDLY to your most hated rival, and to take shots from a fanbase that used to absolutely worship you.

That being said, he's still a d*ck.
