One of the announcers really laid into Pitino and said if he was AD he'd be gone...or were my ears deceiving me?

It's always funny when Rick never wants to talk to the media only after losses. If the Cards win, he's always willing to tell everyone how great of a coaching job he just did and how many future nba superstars the other team had on it. What a blowhard! Rick needs to just retire already if coaching and talking to the media is that big of a hassle. You're being paid millions of dollars. It's always amazing to me these guys act like they can do whatever they wish.

While traveling a couple of weeks ago I was listening to WLW out of Cincinnati on a Sunday afternoon. It was an extended Sunday morning sports talk show that morphed into the UC b'ball pregame show. Host had a guest on, I didn't catch his name 'cause I wasn't paying a lot of attention, but he was a TV b'ball analyst. Totally ripped RP. Said he should have been fired, etc, etc. Ripped UL as an institution that would allow someone like RP to be their coach. Pulled no punches. May have been the guy last night 'cause when the host asked him what he thought would be his toughest game this season to cover (or something like that) the guy kind of chuckled and said UL 'cause RP would be out for him. Wish I had been paying better attention when he was introduced.

He JUST had a press conference where, despite again reiterating that he has been advised not to speak in the scandal, he proceeded to speak on the scandal. He admitted some stuff was probably true but then relied on the word of other hookers to chastise the media for believing the worst of the scandal. The guy is a serious piece of work, and it is sad that someone runs to his defense on a message board.

I haven't read through the thread yet so if someone has already commented on this I'm sorry. Rick is not talking to the media to the advice of legal counsel. It's nothing more than that.

Also, I doubt Ralph Willard was the one talking to the media since he was asked by Rick to retire because of the health issues he incurred over this scandal. Apparently, he is having some major heart problems that stem from his worry over all of the allegations that Powell has thrown out. Ralph's job right now is to stay out of this and get healthy. I think we can all agree that we would like to see him get better.
