He wasn’t out. His heels were over top of the line, but not stepping on the line.
I mean, rarely is an individual game actually on a coach. Usually you could say that he would've won had his players executed well.
But the circumstances, culture, and group of players that he fills the program with determine what goes on in the big picture.
And the big picture for Rick Barnes is a crapload of talent with 1 final four in history.

It most certainly is on him lol. He let his team play like idiots for a whole half two games in a row and was lucky to make it to the sweet 16 with a final four caliber team.
He wasn't Mike, they zoomed in on it. He was toeing that line though. I do not think it was a foul though...I would have been livid if that happened to us.

I will say that foul at the end of regular was a terrible call and an absolute joke. You don't call that there. The contact occurred after the ball was released, was minimal, and had nothing to do with the outcome of the shot. 100% should've been a no call.

I think Barnes has done a great job at UT but they will eventually see it just doesn't win the big game. That is why Texas was always frustrated with his coaching losing in the NCAA Tourney. Coach Barnes in his 17 years at Texas made it to the Final Four once and Sweet 16 twice and the other 15 years out in the 1st and 2nd Round. This UT team loses Schofield and Alexander. Does Grant Williams leave after his Junior Season and what about Bone, Turner, and Bowden all juniors?
They had videos of Tennessee school kids doing this crap. An 8th grader in my county did the dunk at one school. Even did it at an elementary school on a lowered goal. Bunch of little vol fans jumping up and down.
Don't dislike Barnes as a person (what little I know of him), but he does always seem to come up short. Not sure this one was his fault. Vols missed enough FT's in 1st half to have won in regulation.
