On a step stool to block shots? That's got to be more effective than kangaroo'ing on every pump fake.

We really need him to be what the OP said. But, the practice report a few weeks ago indicated little change observed and that was from someone in the know not just a fan.

I hope you're right. We are all rooting for him. But I really hope he has worked on the basics which is fundamental basketball. Kenny has to be going crazy.

1. Can he consistently Block out? I've rewatched half of the games last year. He never finds a body and gets bodied on the blocks. Has to change

2. Can he stop jumping on every shot fake?

3. Can he learn to rotate properly on defense to give the correct help?

I think his offense has gotten better. Can he do the basics? I sure hope so!

He has the experience, the talent and the size to either be a average role player or a All American!! I’ll take 2nd team All SEC,!! It’s all up to what Nick wants to be. When he first committed to Kentucky he was talking about going one and done, it didn’t happen and a couple years later he’s still working and trying hard to improve, and he no doubt has improved a lot .

We all knew he hadn’t played as much basketball as most his age, but now, being the third year with Coach Cal, it’s time to earn that Bread and start playing like a dominant big man. I believe he has a great year and if he can just play with confidence, he should be just what we need him to be.

Why are you being negative on most all your posts? Are you a Kentucky fan or not? Seriously??
Richards isn't very good at this thing called basketball, nor is he coachable. He's a nice kid, but the NCAA means you can go pro in other things. I don't sugarcoat, nor do I pump sunshine. I'm glad you're a super fan of Richards.

Isn't he like 23? This isn't a Jorts situation where you have a skilled basketball player that just needs to commit to being in the best shape of his life.

I want Nick to do big things. I just don't see it. If he can give us 6 and 6 this year, I'll be satisfied.

He’s probably a good guy but he has to play in position, anticipate where the balls going and stop the stupid reach in fouls. He just doesn’t seem to have much basketball IQ, concentration nor intensity

Totally agree. And when he falls for every pump fake, it negates the one thing he brings to the team: size. Pump fake, flip pass, score. That's the opponent's game plan when Richards is out there. I don't remember AD having much intensity, either, but AD was a master at recovery. He didn't need constant help from teammates.

I am a fan of Richards , not really a Super fan as you say with that smart mouth of yours, but yes a fan. The reason is because he Is a Kentucky Wildcat! Sunshine pumper or not, Nick Has some talent and will no doubt play in the NBA, but he’s Uncoachable! You’re a funny guy. If only you were our coach we’d have it made.

He’s a JR!! I know most all our kids have developed or was already ready to move on when they got here, but he’s got two more years to keep getting better if he wants them. But no, no way he can get any better than he was last year! No way! No one ever gets better at basketball, even if they practice all day everyday. It’s impossible. After high school everyone should just quit practicing because that’s as good as they will ever be anyway!! Thanks, I’ve saw the light.

Incorrect. The problem with you is that every one of your posts are negative.

But then again, you're a Duke fan, so that only makes sense.

Nick is like the 6-5 QB with a rocket arm who can't read a defense to save his life. He has plenty of skill but he doesn't understand how to play organized basketball, so he's never in the right place to put it to use. Or rarely, anyway. He's 5 fouls until proven otherwise, and he'll have 2-3 games where everything breaks right and he contributes to a win.

There is no reason that Nick can't get 10 points and 8 rebounds a game assuming he plays at least 25 minutes a game. The time is now for him to produce if he has pro aspirations. He's been through 2 full seasons of practice and games and knows what Cal wants from him. I hope he wants it for his sake.
