I watched the game. Has work to do with mechanics. He is very natural at leading the WR with his passes. Live arm for sure. Not a bad get at all. He could actually be pretty good in college. He will need work to do to work out of a pocket in college since he doesn't do that much...tends to go back a few yards since his OL sucks so bad.

The team he played tonight isn't any good but he did what a D1 kid should do in their senior season and dominate the game...which is what he did.

His team sucks, the opposing team just sucks more. The opponent Brownsville Lopez, finished 5th in a 5 team district last year. Over the past few years, they have given up about 54 points per game, in a region of the state not known for playing even average football.

I would take his stats with a grain of salt. 5A San Antonio football is not good, especially the district he plays in. Southside will make the playoffs and lose in the 1st round.

Regardless of incomparable competition, let’s compare 7 TDs in 1 half vs Adrian’s 2020 4 TDs in about 14 halves = Adrian producing 4% of Richard?

Empty practice field…. could Adrian throw 7 TD’s in one half?
Let’s just say I wouldn’t bet a testicle on it.

Ha, okay, I was going to say that it looked like two really horrible teams.

I'll watch his film for the rest of the year, especially as he is on the run and making throws under duress. That is a good skill to have at Nebraska. Improvise! Abandon ship.

So is this district equivalent to Class A Nebraska? or Class B or CLass C Nebraska football?

Thanks

Another reason that high school QB recruiting is a crap shoot. Torres might end up being the next Joe Montana but it's tough to know because of the talent on both his team and the opposition. IF he isn't surrounded by much he'll struggle against better teams. I watched some of South Lake Carroll's game last night on ESPNU. Their QB that left for OSU no doubt benefited from their system, coaching and talent. His replacement had I think 4 TD passes in the first half. Their opposition didn't look good and I'm not sure what their staff was trying to do at times. In high school in particular, coaching matters a bunch IMO.

I think #5 on the defense played for us last season. Slow, missing his assignment and trying to tackle with his head looking at his shoes.

Heck, even NFL draft QB picks are a total crap shoot. If NFL coaches with 40 years of experience looking at QBs can't get it right in the NFL than it's also a crap shoot for HS.

It's the only reason I think we could have a shot against Ohio this year. Nobody has seen their QB play a D-1 game and even though he's an 8 star QB (joke) you never know what will happen the first time a blitzing linebacker lowers the boom on him.

Yeah or dropping a lot of dudes into coverage to create confusion for a guy that has probably not seen a lot of different looks.

This was a non district game, but Lopez is probably in worse shape numbers wise than Omaha South.

His district is 5A Division 1, schools will have enrollment of between just over 1900 and just over 2200 students, without knowing enrollment numbers in Class A Nebraska, I would guess that it would be equivalent to Class A.

Most of the schools in that district are border towns with the exception of the 3 San Antonio schools. Most of the schools along the border are not strong in football.

Well I'm sure critics can find faults and maybe this video has been posted before BUT I'm still impressed with his scrambling ability (for such a tall guy especially) and his ability to throw the long pass. Yes, I know it's a highlight reel but there still are some impressive plays (at least to me) in the linked YouTube video:

Probably better at the other kind of football that requires lots of little speedy guys who can kick a round ball.

And with his ability to scramble and complete long passes, the DB's better not try to crowd the line of scrimmage to stop the run or they will get burned.
