I truly hope you are correct about the future football I was comparing konkel and the fired football coaching staff and not judging the new staff in football but if we don’t change soon we will be playing uco and nsu in fcs football

I stand corrected but I would be sure if they used net rankings in 2004 that team when Phillips quit and Pooh took over thr spring of 2005 would have been in the high 300s
Highly doubt that. We would have been mid to low 200’s. We played much better teams than we do this season in 2005.

Konkol should be let go immediately. One of the worst hires ever. Could be worse than Wilson. Previous AD put us in a terrible position.
Be careful spouting the truth as there are few of us on this board who don’t follow Konkol no matter what he does

Not with Charlotte & UTSA on our schedule. E. Carolina & Tulane ain't that great either. We'll get 2 or 3 home wins, not that this counts for very much.
I support the coach but only because he is the current coach and he isn’t a D-Bag. That said, if he was let go this morning I wouldn’t be upset.
It's always unfortunate when a coach fails but is also a great person, but that's just how it goes. I don't feel sorry for these guys at all when they're paid a ton of money not to coach. A change MUST be made...this season will likely rival JP's 9 win seasons.
I still have a feeling that the extension will come into play and he will be back for another year.
I understand your thoughts on that one but we can't have a lame duck coach leading the charge...I think he will be gone especially because this season is going to be an epic disaster. I mean, we are the worst team in the league BY A MILE.
There is certainly a talent issue but that is not the problem. We go into every game knowing that we will be outcoached. Konkel has no clue on how to coach a team. He needs to just stay in his office and calculate stats because that seems to be the only thing he knows.

Agreed. Embarrassing no matter how you slice it, and definitely evidence of a coaching change needed ASAP.
I hope a change happens but I bet Justin will wait until next year to see how football does before letting Konkol go

They & maybe Wichita St could be the only ones giving Memphis any competition. I'd say it will be them and Wichita St battling for 2nd place.These folks are in the cellar as well.
I don't know about you guys but I'm looking forward to having at least one major sport where we're not debating (a) will we finish last in the conference and (b) will we win another game the rest of the year. We just got through those discussions in FB and now we're right back to them in BB. They're not very fun anymore.
Dude, Konkol won 5 games his first year. You're not some Nostradamus to have questioned him, and you had a lot of company, including me. What's up with people trying to make themselves look good by bashing Konkol. Two doofuses in this thread alone bragging about themselves for predicting that the sun will come up in the west tomorrow.
I didn't wait until after his first season to question the competency of what he was (or wasn't) doing.
The old saying, even a broken clock is wrong twice a day applies here..... what's harder will be to predict a winner. I think the new football coach is going to be a winner.... so let's see how good a prognosticator I am.
