I actually played college football also. I definitely respect your opinion and I know all about rolling your eyes behind the back of goofy coaches. All I'm saying is that football teams have to be confident and motivated. It can come from coaches, teammates or from within. Maybe Rhule thought the team at 0-2 needed a fiery speech because it wasn't coming from anywhere else. It didn't seem corny to me, Will Compton or Kevin Durant and I doubt anyone was laughing behind his back.

It makes a big difference who is giving the speech. If you are a disorganized drunk womanizing frat boy posing as a serious coach, doesn’t matter what you are saying

If you are a serious coach with a history of raising programs from the dead and sending several players to the NFL, players will listen. They certainly seemed to Friday night

I get a charge over the troll wannabes who show up here to try to show shade. Don't even realize they are reaffirming NU's relevance at the same time we know the program has to go out and get it back. Kinda like, if we die, we die. That sounds so much better than a coach saying, "How in the hell is my kid going to get those 25 points a game?"

Well to be fair, this point last year... Georgia Southern happened. First home game. Perfect time to get the team up and NOT let something that stupid happen again!

Apparently Rhule was out this way today. Didn't go to see him. Didn't even know about it. I guess I didn't get too hyped up after watching his speech. Frost never did that, unless it was to hunt undercover. Or bar hop.
Anyway, good on coach for making the rounds.

Think Carter Nelson. Pep rally. Also, this is 3rd hand info, so take it with a grain of salt. Probably shoulda confirmed it before I shot my mouth off. Oh well. I wanted to get "the scoop".
