like most of us, yoshi has his point of view and also like most of us his biases come through in his posts. I've been able to have some good back and forth with him. I don't always agree with him and I'm sure he doesn't always agree with me. But that's OK, that's life.

The most difficult line to cross is identifying where the facts that we use come from. A lot of the media that publish data have their own built in biases but they publish as facts only part of the actual fact. So, if you don't understand the process it's easy to get caught up in statements that make sense, but only tell part of the story. Most of us don't have any idea of the federal budgeting process or the federal accounting process. So it's easy to get caught up in the deficit/debt debate where two people can literally look at the same facts, apply their own mental filter (based on what they know) and come to different conclusions, neither of which might be right.

I'm not ready to discount yoshi's posts. We all need to understand the other side's perspectives.
I generally try to reconcile news from Reuters, Bloomberg, Dow Jones, with news from CBS, ABC and NBC to support information.

Never twitter or fox news

Appreciate the comments.

So that you have some context, @fatpiggy blocked me when he didnt like that I could easily, and consistently show that he was completely wrong.

He is also a poster who made a ban bet under a different username, then instead of honoring his bet, he changed his profile and continued posting. He has admitted this.

Honestly, he's a bit of a head scratcher as a poster and it's almost like a shared account with two or more people posting. He will react very sanely such as when Trump refused to release the Epstein files, then the next day fully support the decision and attack anyone who disagrees.
Just imho, fatpiggy is totally driven by greed

It's weird, we've had a fairly long history on this site and he's been all over the place.

He posts slogans like a paid bot one moment, then the next day is ripping the White house and Trump, then follows that up with near worship.

The covid vaccines saved millions of lives world wide.
Masks were one of the stupidest things I have ever witnessed. Seriously. The 6 ft rule was not based on any type of science. Lockdowns did way more damage than they prevented. Vaccine passports were absurd. Contact tracing was a total failure. They lied about the vaccines preventing spread. They changed the definition of vaccine. Shutting down small business while letting big box stores stay open was ridiculous.

Anyone that had anything to do with those policies should be fired. Terrible management and they lost the trust of a generation.

Remind us ... Who sit down the economy and closed businesses? Who initially was in charge with masks, social distancing etc? Whose greatest achievement as a President was to literally fast track this vaccine?

It was a novel virus, they used the information they had at the time to suggest the best course of action.

What continues to be incredible frustrating is those who refuse to understand how science and medicine work. It's also incredibly tiresome to keep seeing Biden,Dems, science blamed for policies that happened during Trump.

Also, and I'm truly asking this, did Vaccine passports ever become a thing in America other than showing proof of vaccination to get into large enclosed situations? The only instance I can remember was needing to show vaccination status for a Broadway musical in NYC. Honestly, considering how badly NYC was hit with Covid, both in deaths, and financially, it's hard to blame them for showing caution as we were coming out of the pandemic. They were trying to avoid a resurgence that would put at risk their economy and citizens.

Even your cranky, quack-a-doodle HHS secretary said the original vaccine was PERFECTLY matched to the original covid strain. That was before you anti-public health rebels allowed it to spread and mutate which enabled it to evade the vaccines full protection and ability to spread. And that makes YOU the stupidest thing we've ever witnessed.

I'm not on Twitter, but I think you miss the boat by not watching/listening to Fox. Of course, they have a conservative slant in the same way others have a progressive one. But seeing both sides of an argument/discussion can give you a "both sides" perspective. I'm a WSJ guy plus I subscribe to quite a few online newspapers, some conservative some not. Once I determine they're just propaganda outlets, I'm done with them. Even then I try to be trust but verify person. Every outlet has a bias, so best to read as much as you can and make your own determination as to reality

just to show a difference...I live in Florida. Back during COVID, we shut down for about a month. After that Desantis had enough and the entire state reopened. ..theaters, restaurants, golf courses, schools...no masks required. I don't know what he saw that others didn't, but the state thrived.

There was a time when I watched Fox and listened to Rush Limbaugh, etc.. I have a good understanding of what I will hear there. I do have to hand it to Murdock for standing his ground in the lawsuit tit for tat, but he just stands by his companies

Read some of these comments from 2020 and see if it doesn't surprise you the suggestions Trump had about testing before boarding planes etc. this is literally the same stuff that is being blamed on Biden and Dems.

"No, certainly not. Let's talk about the numbers here. Yesterday, there were more than 3,000 cases. Cases are still staying high, going down very slowly. We had 41 additional deaths. DeSantis is saying that he believes, though, that because the vaccine is available to all who want to get it, there's no reason to keep imposing restrictions on individuals and businesses. And you know, he's not alone. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have all announced that they will in most COVID restrictions in two weeks."

Is the big point that if vaccines are available that work, should it not be a freedom of choice?
Then the mutation factor risk from the unvaccinated

Seems like the answer boils down to - it depends.

Think about what would happen on a cruise ship if you had a huge breakout and you're days from land - at that time, the virus was more deadly and that would have been a total disaster for everyone on board. But he didn't care because owning the libs was more important than their lives or their business.

I honestly don't remember. But I do remember that during that period my wife and I flew from orlando to DC and then took the auto train from lorton VA back to Sanford fl and didn't have to show any vaccination forms. It was great travelling, almost nobody else on other plane or train.

I don't really put 100% stock in everything Trump says. Sometimes folks on the left seem to eat up every word just to find something wrong in his verbiage.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Were there COVID deaths in Florida after restrictions were lifted. Sure there were. You take the necessary precautions, get the vaccine and live your life. I learned in Vietnam that when it's your time, it's your time.

And I think many on the Right don't take him seriously enough when he says stuff.

I use my Mother in law as an example. We talked so much pre-election about Project 2025 and how those changes were going to impact us. One specific was abortion rights, which, conservative as she is, she was in favor of a womans with to choose. She said " Oh, he just says things, he won't actually do that."

I agree the first time around, he just said stuff and spoke off the ciff and said dumb things. This time around, he is literally doing everything he has said he wants to.

The Norman Vincent Peal influence in his mentor path between Fred Trump and Roy Cohn

As a play on follow the $$$

Follow the mentors

You can clearly see the impact of these 3 mentors in making him what we see today

"God is everywhere.” He denied the very heart of the Christian faith and replaced it with his doctrine of positive thinking. Many Christians critiqued Peale, including Episcopalian theologian John Krumm who saw that Peale had reduced God to a force and made Christianity self-centered rather than God-centered.Apr 2, 2014"

"Kerry Kennedy, sister of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has joined her nephew, former Massachusetts Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy III, calling on her brother to resign as President Trump’s secretary of Health and Human Services."

“Medical decisions belong in the hands of trained and licensed professionals, not incompetent and misguided leadership,” Kerry Kennedy wrote on social media Friday. “The decimation of critical institutions, like the [National Institutes of Health] and the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention], will lead to the loss of innocent lives. This means that children, mothers, fathers, and those you love are at risk now like never before.”

"Enough is enough" continued Kennedy, who is president of a human rights advocacy group named after her father. Secretary Kennedy must resign. Now"

Trust the science

Have you lost your damn mind? Because of you uncivilized troglodytes, he's had to protect himself and his family with round the clock security for years, simply because he told the truth about hydroxywhatthefvck and that embarrassed Dr Trump. Disgusting what's happened to this country because of your absurd dedication to a sociopath.
