Rex and 500k

I don't think there is much to debate here to be honest

Was Rex offered money in the era of unchecked rampant cheating in college basketball? How could he not be?

Is Rex the kind of guy that will go on Dan Patrick and make up some number just to insure he gets clicks and twitter traffic? Absolutely - and I doubt few if any will argue that point.

So I don't really understand that debate here - when pressed both sides agree to my above statements.

So its really irrelevant of the amount - it can't be verified and a proven serial liar is the one stating it. its simply Rex's version of storytelling to stay relevant.

Why that translates to "oh people just hate him for his politics" is the real head scratcher to me. There are sooooo many things to dislike Rex about other than his politics, that should be at least a distant 6th on the list.

No, it proves my point. The fact that Rex may have been offered $500k over years, not one lump sum, is comparable to Bowen being offered $200k and everyone getting busted after $1300. I love UK, I have multiple degrees from UK (which I bet most of you have none), but I dislike the blind hypocrisy that so many espouse when dealing with issues relating to recruiting. No way kids come to UK for free when they can go to Duke for a million dollar house.

Heck 500k is a huge amount these days. Davis no doubt got the 200k. I'd say a few others did too. Rex may have gotten 50k or 15k. Not 500

That you felt you had to throw that out there is nauseating and pretentious. Maybe use one of those degrees to trade for some humility and common sense.
If UK were cheating as rampantly as you say, the NCAA would be camped out in Lexington with teams of investigators. They would love nothing more than to topple UK and Cal.
UNC was busted with fake classes and diploma's for 20 plus years and they got not one infraction or penalty. The frauds in Durham gets kids approved academically that couldn't get into grade schools.
Either wake up and see what is going on or just keep you hand in the sand and your opinions as well.

I have found that guys on here who think they are the only ones with degrees typically are communication majors who also have degrees in other throw away programs and are now baristas at Starbucks.

The other interesting thing about the interview is that Rex admitted that he wasn't planning to go pro that year, until the shot hit the fan. He was telling Patrick about the team they had lined up the next season, Rex/Kemp/Mills/Manuel/Ellis and others.
