Of course you believe and take any chance to bash UK and it's fanbase. You must have an alarm that goes off when a topic comes that gives you a chance to try and seem uber enlightened and intelligent.
We're so lucky to have someone with your intellect on here to keep us informed.
He's a teacher. Obvious genius. 😅

I do feel bad for the kids who he harangues with his ********. 🥺

Honestly one of this board's absolute worst posters. If only you could buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth. 😁

Lotta hate for a Wildcat on this board, probably an all time player too!! SMH
He’s done a lot to earn the dislike. The guy was a legendary Kentucky player. Think about how much goodwill comes in this state with being a great player for the Wildcats and just how big of a jerk someone has to be to mess that up. Chapman has managed to be enough of a jerk and a delinquent for long enough to burn through the massive amount of goodwill equity he had with most of BBN. It’s actually impressive in a sad way.

I don't doubt a lot of schools and/or boosters offered him money.

What I don't like is some of his phrasing:

- "I would say"
- "Through my parents or coaches"
- "I would tell my parents and see what they had to say"

These are all indications HE wasn't offered anything specifically and he is just plugging in numbers that feel right to him. Hopefully his parents kept him out of whatever went down at the time.

If you think it's outside the realm of possibility that someone, even us, offered Rex a huge sum of money to play basketball, I'm not sure what planet you're living on.

It's interesting that Mills was a setup and the Davis story wasn't true and Bam didn't get paid and Rex is lying but we believe virtually everything that comes out about other programs or players getting paid.

I mean, what are the odds? The whole sport is crawling with illegal benefits and has been for 60 years or more, but we're always clean and no one else is? Cmon lol.

The reality is it doesn't matter. Like at all. It's like steroids in baseball. Anything that widespread and pervasive is basically going to balance out in the end.

But feel free to go on twitter and tell Rex what you think. I'm sure he'll hate that. Guy can't stand arguing or attention.
Yeah I don't believe there is any question he was offered money. Probably us included. The only part that is not believable is the amount. $500k was a huge amount back then. I'd believe $50k. That's more in line with what college players were getting back then.

We have UK football players coming from incredibly poor families driving Escalades, New Trucks, Audis, and living in luxury apartment complexes around town. Yet, you can’t convince many of our fans something a little fishy is going on.
********.

You better be ready to back that up if you’re going to throw an accusation out like that.

What about a guy like Greg Brown that we lost to Texas. If we really did cheat, there would be no way he wouldnt come here even if Texas was paying him as well.
Going to go out on a limb and say Greg Brown growing up in Austin played a pretty big role in him attending UT

Absolutely, and while I'm a little skeptical about $500K, you'd have to be pretty naive to think Chapman (and others) weren't offered $$$$ by schools, including UK.
Add to it he's a white kid in a game dominated by blacks....that gets you a little more.

All that **** has been debunked. The stuff about other schools has been proven with evidence. The stuff about UK has just been words.
Dude...if you think UK is as pure as the driven snow you're in a delusional world. Money is getting to players at UK, UNCheat, pUKe, Kansas, UGA, Alabama, Notre Dame, etc.

He said the offer was through parents/coaches or whatever. So what we're really looking at is a guy recalling something from over 30 years ago that was told to him by someone else who actually received the offer. Don't you think that person could easily inflate or even totally generate that offer to pump 17 year old Rex's ego up?

If this was true, then Rex would’ve talked about it WAY before now. He has a pathological attention-***** personality disorder. No way he could’ve sat on such attention-getting info for this long.

exactly

and what has he done to to EARN love from BBN.?
He didn't want to come here. He lied the whole time he was here. Left early, after declaring he would be here for 4 years (BUT, everyone that knew him, knew his plan was to leave after sophomore season...I knew this before 1st game). Has put down BBN numerous times..(Was actually booed, the first time he did the "Y", self included) Has called BBN racist...Has not carried himself respectively outside of basketball. Still feeds off BBN.
This is just tip of iceberg.

So very true. Richie Farmer got elected to an office because of it. Chapman is a narcissist of the highest order.

Not sure how Britney got dragged into this. So the answer to the original question seems obvious to me.

Rex was well taken care of by boosters as was Richie I’m sure, but this story doesn’t even make sense, his rookie deal couldn’t have been more than a couple million at the time lol.

Heck 500k is a huge amount these days. Davis no doubt got the 200k. I'd say a few others did too. Rex may have gotten 50k or 15k. Not 500

Rex is a drama queen; it always has to be about him and if it isn’t he will do whatever’s necessary to make sure it is about him. He ran UK into the gutter for years until he was down, out and desperate. The UK leaders opted to rescuer him and help restore his credibility by giving him a role on the Kentucky pregame broadcasts and other public relations endeavors. . However, once he perceived his credibility had been restored he returned to his obnoxious self promoting self. He became unlistenable to on the radio and eventually so toxic because of incessant yapping about political matters that UK officials had to replace him. Thankfully, Jack Givens took his place and Jack has been absolutely terrific.

I don’t begrudge Rex for using his notoriety to speak out about politics, social justice issues or anything else. It’s all subjective of course for each one of us as to assess how we perceive someone based on what they do and say and how they do and say it but for me Rex comes across as a pandering self promoter who has morphed into an “Elmer Gantry” like figure within the Twitter universe and elsewhere

Is….is there someone who actually thinks Rex lying about the amount of money *isnt* important to this story? There is someone who doesn’t think that’s critical point?

Why is everyone so upset? He is telling us his version of his recruitment. He doesn't name names. I find it interesting. I hope he took the 500k regardless of who offered it.
