With 7:45 to go we were still perfect from 3 and free throws. Ahead by 2, but the stat just said they’ve lead 21 minutes to our 6

We kinda got lucky getting no T when Lyles slapped a guy in the face. Announcers all thought it was a Flagrant 1.

We finally started crashing the offensive boards the 2nd half though

All the 50/50 calls went Dekker’s way the closing minutes. A block/charge went his way, ticky tack foul on a drive. He hit some big shots too though to his credit.

We were down just 64-63 with :24 left and the shot clock running out on them. Just needed a big stop on D, but instead we fouled.

Rewatched lots of the amazing 2015 season games I have on DVR before I drop Dish in a few weeks. Down to the last one. Wasn’t sure I wanted to ever see it again, but what the hell...

Great start in the opening minutes with a Harrison 3 and WCS slam!

I was loaded down during that game. Don’t even remember half of it, and I’ll never watch it again. I was in a dark depression for months after that game. After that game, I took 10 steps back and re-evaluated my fandom. I’m much more detached these days.

I’m convinced he was put out there to derail Cal from perfection.

if he was put there, it was far more than just preventing perfection. our 8 seed team lost to his *** as well in the title game.

what is cal's winning percentage against him again? isn't something like 30%? lmao.

That’s why I think they chose him, they knew he didn’t have a problem screwing us over right in the open!

We have lost 62.5% of the games Higgins has officiated and won 37.5% of the time. In the Cal era it’s worse: we’ve lost 75% of Higgins-officiated games, won only 25%. UK has never won an Elite Eight or higher if he’s on the whistle (4 games: 2005, 2011, 2015, 2017).

To be fair, it’s not just UK. There are very similar stats for all Higgins-officiated SEC NCAA Tournament games. SEC is 0-4 in Final Fours in which he officiated, losing 100%. From 2011-2018, the SEC is 2-7 in the tournament overall, winning 22% and losing 78% of those 9 games.

If the blatant missed shot clock violation had went our way, we win this game. However, if WCS had even gotten off the bus, we wouldn’t even be talking about it. He was absolutely miserable that game. Biggest no show at the absolute worst possible time.

I’ll never watch that game again. We have been robbed by that roofer in every huge game he reffed. Broke our perfect season.
That can’t possibly be true. I was told on here that the only reason UK lost was due to the three shot clock violations. That and some of our players didn’t play up to par. :)

If we would have just grabbed the ball before the out of bounds play. I think willy got a piece of a three and towns held out his arm thinking it was a air ball and let it go out of bounds not knowing willy blocked it. They get the ball and score with 0 on the clock. Geez

This game was terrible. But the "Kentucky Jinx" was in full effect the next game. Wisconsin completely blew their load against us.

Also, I firmly believe that if the wins were switched (Wisconsin wins in 2014 and we win in 2015) that we each would have won a title. I think Wisconsin would have dismantled UConn and we would have rolled over Duke.

But we'll never know.

Three things keep this game from being the mental scar that it is for so many other people...

1. Us beating Wisconsin the year before in the same exact game. We cost them a championship first. Yes we were undefeated but we never played anyone that season that could have conceivably beaten us.

2. Watching the homer broadcast that CBS provided with Chapman and Baker. This is a great feature. Not only do they point out the same stuff you see, Chapman would point out stuff you couldn't, like Frank the Tank hip checking everyone on screens. It takes a lot of the stress out of the game when you see an obvious foul and you don't have to put up with Nantz and his partner being too busy talking about something else.

3. Never watching the game again. I finally decided to watch the second half of the Georgetown game a couple of years ago and I made it about two minutes. Rewatching losses is for coaches. Not me.

Higgins has been deemed an elite ref and that happens? Hogwash and proven once again vs UNC in the E8 just how biased he is.

It’s not coincidental. Wouldn’t surprise me if Higgins was on the other end of the court at the time.

Three things . . .
3. Never watching the game again...Rewatching losses is for coaches. Not me.

This is not a criticism, just an observation of something he has said repeatedly: Cal doesn’t watch tape of the last game if it ends in loss.

For the “I’ll never watch the tape” comments, see:

Those violations didn’t help but he was the reason for being tentative.

Do you all remember the presser where someone brought up Frank K and one of the Harrison Twins allegedly said something to the effect of, “man....f?(& that n*>>¥”

Higgins officiating was the final nail in the coffin. But I do believe with a healthy Poythress/WCS shows up, we win anyway.

The year prior Poythress neutralized Decker. His size and athleticism were too much for Decker. This game he had Booker on him and absolutely are his lunch.

With Poythress, we win that game. I truly believe that. I feel like he could have taken one of Dekker or Frank K a little off their game and both don’t abuse us. WCS failed to show up as mentioned. Some questionable calls were made or not made.

UK had a chance to make history and came up short. I still think if anyone is going to have the perfect season, it will be Cal. He has almost pulled it off twice here. Just a matter of time before another monster season comes along.

That dunk to start the game was WCS’s only FG. He laid the biggest f’n egg he could find that game. Looked completely out of it and disinterested.
The twins take WAY too much heat for this loss from our fans and WCS gets zero.

Say what you want about the twins but they were uber competitive. Our AA junior looked like he would rather be coloring on the sidewalk than locking up Decker/Kaminsky.

Can’t hardly type it without getting depressed.

to be fair to Wisconsin, and predictably, there was a huge difference between how their game against us was called and how their game against duke was called.

they WERE getting a good whistle against duke too and coach K obliterated the refs going into the locker at halftime. Completely different in the second half. I think they called like 9 fouls in a row on Wisconsin at one point.

so infuriating that no one in the media ever calls that bs out.

I **** you not I’m literally pissed off after reading this thread and have a nauseating feeling in my stomach. GFY OP. Until we win MULTIPLE championships I’ll never get over that loss.
