Rewatched NU CU 2019...ugh

I know, I'm a glutton for punishment. But I can't just watch the good 'ole days reruns.

Up 17-0 in the second half and still blew it 31-34 in OT. Martinez had a really solid game, but marred by 3 turnovers. Really looked smooth for the majority of the game. Hoping we see this version of him in 2020 sans the turnovers, especially fumbles. Doesn't help that the D gave up several big plays in the 2nd half either.

It was a game where we owned Colorado all the way till late 3rd quarter (first half the Huskers had 262 total yards to Colorado’s 72 total yards), then we started playing like we had the game won and they stormed back and once seen them coming back and we tried to apply the gas again, Colorado had to much momentum going. That game right there, COULD have changed the direction of the season. I really feel that way.

It certainly COULD have. There has been so much about Martinez's mental makeup...a road win in Boulder could have given him the confidence needed the rest of the season.

That whole second half Adrain was off (outside 2 drives). The first half him and our offense looked completely different, Adrian didn’t have a single incomplete pass the whole first half but that was a completely different story in the second half.

We were outcoached in the second half. Mel Tucker made adjustments and we didn’t. After they took away the offensive plays that had been working for us, we kept repeating the same damn plays without countering. Frustrating as hell.

I was there. Confidence and faith in what SF & Co. are bringing to Lincoln took a big hit in my mind. Should have easily won that game. Worst show of sportsmanship by opposing fans before and after the game of any sporting event that I have ever attended.

I'm hoping Frost and Chin learned alot from what went wrong last season. So many missed opportunities.

Questionable play calling was a common thing in ‘19 more so than ‘18. Not sure if Walters was the issue or our head man. Who knows maybe we had the right plays and our boys just didn’t execute them. Regardless it’s all water under the bridge and I expect to see better play calling and execution in year 3.

That was one of 4 games the past two years where It seemed the only way NU could lose the game was if they did it on purpose.

The two CU games; NW in 2018, and Purdue in 2019.

I would put Indiana from last year in that category. A pass rush on the third string quarterback would have made a difference in my opinion.

On the coaches. Clock management...everything. The top 10 coaches in America don’t lose that game after the early big lead ...etc. Hopefully Neb learned from it. BTW...TO doesn’t lose that game. Agreed?

Players play the game. They had plenty of time to make things happen.

Colorado didn't reach 100 total yards of offense until the 3:58 mark of the 3rd quarter. At that point, they had something like a 2% chance of winning the game according to ESPN advanced stats.
