Really? cmon you are a smart dude. If they don't suspend her and she is doing something wrong, and continues to do so, you are setting yourself up for a lawsuit. If they just fire her, and it turns out she did nothing wrong, you set yourself up for a lawsuit.

Stupid or not, and I agree it is taking way too long, you have to cover your *** as an institution, especially in the litigious world in which we live.

You are right, I am smart.

None of this stuff should be public, period. There is no argument against that.

I agree they are in a CYA situation...that is also part of the problem.

And you can fire her still...Solich was canned...BC was canned...Bo was canned...Riley was canned...

So you can her and pay out her lame *** contract. What did she have left? 400K? If that?

Solich, Bo and Riley weren't canned for the same reason Revelle is suspended. That isn't remotely close to the same thing.

If Revelle is fired for not making it to the NCAA tournament for 3 years and having a losing record, then that would be similar to why the football coaches were fired.

If you want to compare this to Mike Leach at Texas Tech, that would be apples to apples. The other football coaches you mentioned were fired for performance, or the lack there of.

You can fire anyone if you are willing to pay out the contract. If there is just cause as stipulated in the contract....may not have to even pay that $400,000. Drop in the bucket to other coaches fired recently.

Here is the kicker for me. What if the investigation revealed that any issues present did not rise to the level of termination. Sounds like coach has lost buy-in from some of the team. So, how could she go back to the team and move forward? That puts Moos in a bad spot. Puts the university in a bad spot; long-term, high character, well respected coach.

If there was just cause, I would have expected this to be wrapped up by now. So maybe, just maybe, they are trying to negotiate a mutual departure rather than saying "here is your $400, 000....get lost."

I dont have privy to any information. I just want the team to have a coach once classes start.

No...you can can anyone that has a contract for the simple reason that they are not meeting expectations...

Her buyout is probably less than 500k...it is nothing

I don't care at all if the team has a coach because it is softball and if they cut that sport tonight I would be totally fine. I just hate how she is treated.

To win the softball championship.

Is that in the contract?

Because I am sure there is some sort of morality clause, or proper treatment of player clause. So again, to avoid lawsuits, you site the player treatment clause, and investigate. Then if something is there, you terminate.

Again, I agree that this has gone on for too long, and it sucks for Revelle. But it isn't as simple as firing a legendary coach. Regardless of how much backlash there would be, or how much backlash you personally find tolerable, there is still a protocol and they need to follow it.

No...I don't. You said she would not have contact with her players, but she clearly would and could...sooooooo
No, I said she couldn’t have access to her players. Meaning that she can’t be with them in an official university capacity. Of course she can have contact with them as long as it’s not on university property or time.

So you admit that I was correct and that she can have access to them?

I get that. She is highly respected and is known for her high character. I have stated before that I would hate for any coach who has been here 25 years to go out this way. It does appear that this is dragging on. Do I think...at a quick glance that she may be getting a bad rap? Sure. But I have no privy to information. So, I just have to trust that Moos will do the right thing in the end. I believe strongly that Ronnie Green will do the right thing too...and is probably involved.

Look...I don't care if she comes back or is canned...or if a grizzly bear eats her...

But there is zero reason for it to be public or for it to take this long. I get that Kaz wants it to be public and for this lady to be humiliated, great, that gets you your levels up...

But clearly this is lame.

I will also quote and respond to anyone that quotes and responds to this topic disagreeing with me in anyway.

I get it you...you hate being wrong...

Guess what...

You are wrong
Are you ten years old? I am not wrong. They suspended her while she is under investigation so she doesn’t have access to the players in an official university capacity, which is probably standard procedure, I would assume. You twisted my words into something that they weren’t meant to be. You seem to be one of the only ones worked up by this. There is no way that this doesn’t become public if they don’t want it to be. It is the way things are. Good grief.

I am not ten...are you? I am 14...how old are you?

I answered your question, would you answer mine, please?

Do you know what assuming does?

It’s not that I want it to be public, but in this day and age, it is simply impossible for it to not go public. Good god man. Quit twisting my words.

So you do think I am correct?

Again, how old are you?

This day and age???? Most of us didn't even know there was a softball team.

I just assume she as good as gone, both sides are working out the details. I agree with Katz both leak information to their advantage. But we’ll never know what transpired and I really could care less. Imo she’s been coaching on borrowed time.

The only thing I agree with is that this seems to be taking a while. That’s it. I hate to see things like this play out in public, but understand that they do become public. I guess I just have to trust that the admin are handling this the best they can and if they aren’t then hopefully there are consequences to what they are doing.

You just agreed to everything I said/want. Thank you.

Now...could you also admit you age like I did?

Look another guy who apparently been named spokesman for a group of people. Attempting to add credibility to your argument by creating a fictitious group of like minded people is just dumb. It doesn't add any more validity to your argument.

I would say, on average, the same amount of people attend the wresting matches that attend softball games. Are you the spokesman for the group that didn't know there was a wrestling team as well?

This all started because you complained that this became public and I asked you how you thought this wouldn’t become public. As simple as that. I just see no way it wouldn’t become public.

I’m 45 BTW.

That is correct, I am.

My argument doesn't need "more validity" it is already 100% correct. We all know it.
