I am having a bit of a revelation watching this replay drunk. I think AM would’ve been an amazing option QB under TO! Like top 5 in NU history
Agree except not sure he could take the physical punishment that TO QB’s took.I am having a bit of a revelation watching this replay drunk. I think AM would’ve been an amazing option QB under TO! Like top 5 in NU history
Umm they did today. He pitched the ball high at the helmet of Stepp. Thankfully he caught it and made a positive gain. IF Adrian had kept it and hadn't hesitated there was a nice crease for Adrian. He saw inside support pursuit coming and he chickened out almost too late.I think they should have an option wrinkle in the game plan next week. Remember when they ran
it in that series against OSU? I about jizzed in my pants

He can’t read the option.I have said that for years. Not the top 5 part, but that the option fits him best. Probably Smothers too. Then throw PA off it.
He can’t read the option.
He has a good feel for running the football, but he can’t read the option which would kill any offense predicated on it. The same weakness he has reading secondaries is there on option. He’s an athlete playing QB.He seems to have a good feel for it, especially considering how little we run it. Its reading defenses as a drop back passer that’s the issue.
He’s a passing QB now and for the last 4 years. How is his skill at reading defenses and checking his progressions?I mean, if he was an option QB he would be practicing the option and getting better at it. I mean, that is the point of practicing.
It was anything but smooth and polished for sureUmm they did today. He pitched the ball high at the helmet of Stepp. Thankfully he caught it and made a positive gain. Where he is dumbest is he doesn’t take special teams seriously…The fact that Scott Frost never bothered to implement the option as his base rushing attack shows how dumb he is. AM is perfect for it.
In this fantasy, are the current coaches still teaching him?I mean, if he was an option QB he would be practicing the option and getting better at it. I mean, that is the point of practicing.
This is fact and will be the end of him.Where he is dumbest is he doesn’t take special teams seriously…
Pretty good, he set the NU all time completion % for a season last year. He’s a passing QB now and for the last 4 years. How is his skill at reading defenses and checking his progressions?
Ha! NoIn this fantasy, are the current coaches still teaching him?
And in the process winning 33% of his games. Useless as a PhD these days.Pretty good, he set the NU all time completion % for a season last year.
This^^^ He would be TF level but don't think he could handle it physically*Agree except not sure he could take the physical punishment that TO QB’s took.
Dead last.Top 5 is pretty high regard.
Turner Gill
Steve Taylor
Gerry Gdowski
Keithan McCant
Tommie Frazier
Scott Frost
Eric Crouch
Which ones do you bump in favor of Amart?
He missed the 2nd half of the 1994 season with a blood clot issue.I don’t feel like tommie got injured often
That high completion % is a reflection on how much the offense is limited with a QB that can't throw the ball down the field.Pretty good, he set the NU all time completion % for a season last year.
I get it, but it was always my impression that the blood clots were a genetic thing not necessarily caused by football. Is that wrong? He missed the 2nd half of the 1994 season with a blood clot issue.
And Crouch may have been the toughest SOB of the bunch. Dude delivered hits, and when he took them, he made sure to bounce right back up regardless of how much it must have hurt. Nails.Top 5 is pretty high regard.

Crouch was indeed the toughest of the bunch. Imagine him behind that '95 pipeline with Phillips and Green in the backfield. And Crouch may have been the toughest SOB of the bunch. Dude delivered hits, and when he took them, he made sure to bounce right back up regardless of how much it must have hurt. Nails.

But that was not the argument. And in the process winning 33% of his games. Useless as a PhD these days.
Yeah this is real nitpicky. Dude averages 12 yards per completion over his career. Considering he has had two good WR's over 4 years, that is really good. That high completion % is a reflection on how much the offense is limited with a QB that can't throw the ball down the field.
Single read, chuck the screen or swing pass, if it's not there tuck it and run.
That high % is part of the reason we have never beat a team worth a **** with AM under center. Only having to defend within 10-15 yards of the LOS makes it easy on the defense.
No. The argument by those that don’t know the game is that he’d be great in an option offense. He wouldn’t because he can’t read a defense. He can’t read the option and he can’t read a secondary. He is not a good QB in any scheme. But that was not the argument.
it went from if he would be good at running the option (yes, he would) to he could not do it because he is soft (he isn't, plus they would practice running the option if they were an option team) to he can't learn to make reads now (he can) to "it doesn't matter that he set the NU completion record because he doesn't win games"
I mean, it goes on and on.
Rip the kid, that is fine, but rip him for turnovers and losses, not completion %
Well if that is your argument you are wrong again.No. The argument by those that don’t know the game is that he’d be great in an option offense. He wouldn’t because he can’t read a defense. He can’t read the option and he can’t read a secondary. He is not a good QB in any scheme.
Go watch a game. You don’t know football.Well if that is your argument you are wrong again.
A game of what?Go watch a game. You don’t know football.
