I know it's dreaming but realistically every spring sport but men's tennis and softball have a chance to be competing for a national championship. It's so exciting watching these programs and seeing the talent and potential.
Throw in a few other sports too, but yeah there is a lot of potential this spring. Current rankings:
- MLax #1
- WLax #2
- W Tennis #5
- Baseball #5
- WGolf #12
- MGolf #16
- Rowing #21 (22 teams in championship, so on the bubble)
- Softball #40 RPI (~40-46 is on the bubble)
- M Tennis #42 (~37-43 ins on the bubble)
We are so fortunate to have 6 teams that could make a deep run in May. Crazy that it’s probably not super out of the norm. Of course it inevitably leads to some heartbreak at the end but wouldn’t have it any other way.
And a very interesting side-story is whether Rowing can score their first Director’s Cup points ever.

Very odd that we have coaches that appear to have an expiring contract with nothing announced but we're announcing new deals 15 months in advance for others
My guess as that Miltenberg got an offer from another school and brought it to us to match it.
Glad we re-signed Miltenberg. He's done tremendous work in building the program.
Good day today. MTEN gets to the right side of the bubble. WLAX secures the undefeated conf season. Total beatdown 8-0 2nd half v dook. W Golf not in great position but I expect a good round tmw to make match play (top 6).
Added ACCT results for WLax, MGolf, and spoilers (!) added the Director's Cup points for WLax and both Tennis teams. We are officially dropping our lowest score.
No, we have not had enough high performing scores yet. Probably need a really good spring (With at least 1 if not 2 titles) to even finish top 5.
Our 14 non-mandatory sports scores as of today are:
83, 69, 66, 55, 53.5, 53 (In Progress), 50, 50, 46, 45, 42.5, 38, 34, 25 (In Progress)
And we're currently dropping:
25 (In progress), 5 (In Progress), 5 (In Progress)
Required Scores: 64, 64, 50, 25, Baseball
So we have a ton of mediocre results (From a Cup perspective, being in the T25 teams in so many programs is impressive). You probably need to be ~1300 to win, which would mean you need to average 68 points across your 19 counting sports. As you can see we've only hit that mark in 2 sports so far, with WLax, WTennis, Baseball probably to hit it as well. 5 of the 19 being past that mark (and frankly maybe only 1 title between those 5) isn't enough.
So have we landed on a best practice for when we roll over to a 2026-2027 thread for each team?
Added the points for Women's Golf qualifying for nationals, overall score only increased by 6 points due to the drops changing.

Probably just Men's Golf and Baseball left for points purposes. Would be nice to get a good bit into the 1100s. Find it unlikely that either track will score more than the >45 necessary to drop a different sport.
Based on this guy's methods, I'd guess UNC's final projection is 1155 (MGOLF 9th, Baseball T5th). So if those 2 teams can measure up, maybe a top 5 finish is on.
I think with UCLA's baseball failure, they should be within striking distance for us to have a top 5 finish. Though they are currently overperforming in golf.
FWIW, It does not look like UCLA will score meaningful points in T&F men or women. only a couple of their qualifiers project into the top 8 and none are podium worthy.
Their softball team finished tied for 5th yesterday, which is of course very good, but slightly below their projected 3rd place finish.

Just need a few more baseball wins to hopefully put the icing on a potential top 5 finish!
based on recent season bests from Paige and Mascarelli, it is feasible that the Women's Outdoor T&F team scores a top 25 finish and thus adds a single digit number of points to our score. (dropping women's Fencing)
Also worth noting we are waiting on contract extensions for Koll/Dibitetto. And then some type of decision on an extension/retirement/move on from Paul.

Stanford is at 1263.5 pending track (4 women events qualified, 0 men)
Texas is at 1236 pending track and baseball completion (9 women, 8 men)
UCLA is at 1150.75 pending track (5 women, 3 men)
UVA is at 1139.25 pending track (4 women, 10 men)
UNC is at 1140.75 pending track and BB (6 women, 1 man)
I'm not going to check the track results for those behind us, but I think we're only looking out for USC in our mirrors.

UVU likely to add men’s track points. Need baseball to advance further to have a chance to stay ahead of them. Outside chance to,catch UCLA if baseball goes deep. Beat USC on baseball and problem solved there.
