Commit fully to the triple option game. Hire coaches that live and breathe the option.

Fire Chin. Hire someone who has a crazy different mentality. Something totally off the wall. Hopefully we strike gold.

This will make both sides of the line completely different than the rest of college football. Being like everyone else on the planet will never get us anywhere. Zig when everyone else zags.

We'll have an identity. We may lose, but we'll have a brand.

Agree 100%. If we don't, Frost will unfortunately NOT succeed here at Nebraska. I hope he does what's right for this program. Otherwise it'll just be sad.

Brother, your last sentence said a lot. IF WE LOSE, we’ll still want him fired. Regardless of the “identity”.

Five turnovers and 23:39 in time of possession will make any DC look bad. Chin is far from the only problem.

I'm more convinced than ever that our old power offense would work in today's football climate. Don't tell me we couldn't find QBs to run it, there are plenty out there believe me. Now we just get the 2nd and 3rd tier scraps in our offense, since the big boys run more or less the same thing and are more attractive to recruits.

Step into the way back machine Sherman. The Big 8 Days nobody really knew us. the Bobfather just played hard nosed football, we had players that wanted to be part of the program, gave all.

Dr Tom polished up what the Bobfather handed him. We had stability hit the Big 12 & people noticed us. I remember other schools touring our facilities gleaning info.

Coaching carousel has collapsed our program. After 20 years and tremendous amounts of money, we are nowhere on the radar. The money is obscene.

I say NO to the triple option. We need to get in the current times. I’m afraid it won’t work

Die hard Hawk fan here so take it for what it’s worth. Half my family are just as die hard Husker fans and I’ve been telling them forever that offense and defensive lines are the first priority. Until those are fixed the rest doesn’t matter.

Unless you’re OSU, you need to be physical and control the line of scrimmage.
And stop making stupid penalties and turnovers which is on coaching.

It would work, if you have top tier recruits to run it. But nobody would come here to run it. Every 4 or 5 star recruit wants to play in the NFL and option football isn’t the way to get there. Maybe laser focus on big uglies on o line and d line and hope your walk on fullbacks and QBs can win some games.

Let’s be realistic though, Frost is going down swinging with his offensive scheme. It’s not changing under him.

Can you name one team running the triple option in a P5 conference? Let alone with national relevance?

Can still run an RPO offense with some power elements to it. It just seems like that teams who commit to that style of play have philosophical difficulties in establishing tough, physical defenses.

Nope I can't and I think that is exactly why I think it would work, certainly better than the abomination of an offense we attempt to run now. Not saying run the wishbone or true triple option, but a power offense with those option elements sprinkled in. Recruit to your system, play good defense and shorten the game.

We already have the QB’s to run it.

Yes! And can we bring back those cool starter jackets and jorts too?

All I ever hear is how nobody wants to play Navy or Air Force. It’s a lot to prepare for in one week.

I'm obviously a Hawkeye fan, but try to watch all of your games. My opinion is Frost needs to slow things down on offense and help protect the defense. Scoring fast is awesome, but when you run a quick paced offense that doesn't score at a high enough rate it really hurts the defense. At UCF they scored 45+ a game so it didn't matter because the opponents couldn't score like that. Almost 37 minutes on the field again this week for the D. That's a bad recipe without the high scoring offense. Just my opinion.

If our team (both O and D) look like everyone else's, we'll never get anywhere. No draw to this program, no edge. Just meh.

Youre not wrong but we are not good when we slow down. We can’t catch teams off guard when we play slow. We’re not good or smart enough to beat someone head on. So either way we suck and we are doomed.

if Nebraska wants that offense then they need to fire frost and the entire staff - frost hasn't coached that system nor have his assistants - he hasn't been able to effectively coach his own system at a power 5 level let alone one in which he is a novice

there were some option based coaches available predating the 2 most recent hires and Neb passed

The question is will SF figure it out without if he isn’t getting the talent he had at UCF...

True. I was wanting those guys back then. Ken Niumatoulaoualao or reasonable facsimile.

But Frost ran the triple option. If sure he can find an OC and other coaches to help him run it.

Maybe I should start watching the service academies on Saturdays.

When Riley left the program, my buddies got after me b/c I wasn’t on the Frost train. I actually wanted Bret Bielema. If we’re stuck in this conference I’d rather have someone who’s won here.

Unfortunately, the 2017 season is looking more and more like an outlier, rather than a true indicator of Frost’s abilities as a head coach. I still hope he can turn it around.

Oregon had the speed and smarts, we‘re lacking in speed, fundamentals and The Husker Power has long since been kaput.
let’s see what happens next.

I dont think it necessarily needs to be triple option, but some sort of run option attack, but most important is its a power based offense that slugs it out, offensive lineman who excel at run blocking, downhill running plays from power formations, 2 tight ends or a tight end and fullback.

Also I would like to see us stop talking about championships of any kind and getting back to the 90s etc, all emphasis should be on being best we can be, playing the hardest and most committed we can. Being the mentally and physically toughest team on the field each week not necessarily the best.

Frost has shown us on 3 occasions Osborne's offense. We move the ball and inexplicably go away from it.

This is one of the bad side effects of turnovers. Four or five is enough to deplete any defense.

BINGO!- we are no different than every other school so we MUST have superior COACHING, S &C and recruiting
