The unarticulated Selection Committee rule is that conference goes not meet the first weekend. It has happened in previous years. It appears that 9 will Dance. Illinois is a 1. Michigan should be even without their second best player. Hence,Rutgers as a 9 would overwhelmingly see either Baylor or the Zags.

If we were stuck in the 8/9 game and win it, at this point I would rather play Baylor over the Zags. Baylor is a great team, but I believe they're not as balanced as the Zags are.

The official rule is you can't play a conference opponent in the 2nd round if you played them twice during the season. For us, that rules out Illinois, but it does not rule out Michigan.

No matter who we play or what the score is, it is just a great day. First time in 45 years that we are in the NCAAs in back to back years.

No team has gone undefeated through the regular season and through the tournament since 1976. Gonzaga will almost certainly lose and it might as well be RU to do it. Myles would just need to shut down the basket (which he can do against Timme as Timme is a much different player than Garza) and force the Zags to make tough shots.

The rule is no conference teams playing first weekend if they played twice during the regular season.

MSU actually played Minnesota in the second round in 2019.
