I really hope nothing happens. Where did this Andy Miller dude come from anyway.Open and shut case Johnson.
I hope you're right smooth. I won't be surprised if they vacate wins from last year however. But I don't see how UK could have avoided it - all signs point to Bam accepting a loan from an agent not associated with UK, at a time when he was a near lock to NC state.
The more I read about it and the more I think about it, I don't think much will come from it either. Emmert described it as a "systematic failure". I think the NCAA will view it as a widespread issue that affects all of college sports and needs to be fixed. Not something that requires individual punishment and attention to players and schools. I think as long as coaches weren't involved they will largely let it slide and focus on how to fix the problem moving forward.
My gut says some new rules will be implemented to "address" issues, but no teams games get vacated and no punishments doled out unless you have an assistant or school official caught red handed. I think it's unfair to punish schools for an ineligible player if that schools actions didn't contribute to his ineligibility.
That's why things must change and players be allowed to get legit loans based on their future NBA earnings. Takes the agents out of play. These agents are not able to get real jobs so they prey on kids that only chance to better their lives is to play a sport , go to college and hope like hell they can make it to professional level. Scum of the earth.
I am of the opinion no wins will be vacated and all of this will blow over like a fart in the wind.Open and shut case Johnson.

That's what I'm thinking. The NCAA and Emmert especially will jump at the chance to get UK and Cal. Hope I am wrong but, I think we all know that UK and Cal have been in the NCAA crosshairs for awhile. Most people are flipping out because we all know the NCAA has been chomping at the bit for any hint of impropriety with Cal and UK. None of us would be surprised if we took the brunt of it all while the other schools walk free.

Maybe so, but not this time and not with these allegations. That's what I'm thinking. The NCAA and Emmert especially will jump at the chance to get UK and Cal. Hope I am wrong but, I think we all know that UK and Cal have been in the NCAA crosshairs for awhile.
I hope you're right but, the amount Bam received seems excessive compared to what others got. Don't trust the NCAA in these cases. Especially when it involves UK and Cal.If it was an isolated incident, yes. But with so many schools, if they tried to just hit Kentucky and no one else, they would get reamed
I may be wrong but, so far the payment Bam supposedly received seems to be the largest. That's a bad look. Hard to ignore $48K or whatever the number is.
If the NCAA comes down on any program you can rest assured it will be us. Worst case...UK has to vacate all wins from 2017 including the SEC tourney and the NCAA tournament. Plus return any monies received.
It would also mean that every school Cal has coached at will have been given NCAA punishment. Again, not a good look. Fodder for our recruiting competition and opposing fans.
I haven't read the full list of payments. Obviously the Bowen kid allegedly got $100K. But, the $36K attributed to Bam is enough to get attention. It's definitely an amount that is considerably more than the $4500 mentioned with Noel. Not the largest payment. You work for MSNBC?
Two players got more, including Dennis Smith Jr from NC St who got over 70k....I haven't read the full list of payments. Obviously the Bowen kid allegedly got $100K. Noel was supposedly post UK. I'm not seeing how that invokes us at all.I haven't read the full list of payments. Obviously the Bowen kid allegedly got $100K. Valid points and possibly correct. However, I suspect there will be additional info trickle out as time passes.Noel was supposedly post UK. I'm not seeing how that invokes us at all.
Bam is the only real concern and I think everyone that is unbiased sees that money went to someone to influence him to go to NC State and it didn't happen this "Bad Loan" and exactly half the amount of Dennis Smith Jr (who got the money is a question? Could have been his coach which doesn't effect us. His mom and his coach had a Falling out). The NCAA does whatever they want and is inconsistent but logically I don't think anything happens from this.
There is also questions to the legitimacy of the document in general. He's a criminal skimmin money and was looking to get reimbursed from his company. He has falsified records previously. Knox SR claims he wouldn't know these people if they set down beside him and the meal never happened
