Anyone else watch him play yesterday? I know his name is mentioned a lot as a guy Duke fans would like to see come in as a grad transfer, but after watching him play verse Kansas, I think he's more of a scoring option than Javin but much less of an athlete or defender. He could play next to Bolden and fit in.

I was not overly impressed with his ball handling, or ability to run the floor. Now granted, that was only one game.

I would love to have him next season. It's also looking like we will be thin up front, and thats even assuming Bolden returns. Ultimately, I think we play Reddish as a Stretch-4 and Bolden at 5. Having a stretch-4 just seems to be the offense K is best at directing.

Javin will be the ultimate energizer bunny off the bench. Reid Travis would be a great guy to come off the bench to get a bucket or two.

I’d only want him if he was here to be supporting cast. We really don’t need more than wide open shots and good defense from him. He’s a smart guy, maybe he just wants the degree and some PT. If so, suit up.

Reid Travis can really score the basketball. He’s a double-digit scorer if he were to play at a Duke next season.

I don’t think Duke is rail thin in the front court next season.

Duke would have Bolden(think he returns), Big V , White and Javin.

Then you put Reddish in there as a stretch four and Duke has size. I’ve watched Reid Travis a few times and he can score and defend a little he is injury prone though.

Just would be nice to not play Cam at the 4 because most ACC teams will have 2 bigs and he will need to defend in the paint against much bigger players.

He's not Winslow who was a good 225-230 or BI with his length. He physically is similarly built to Tatum but not as physically strong.

I get what your saying but hopefully White as a junior could contribute a little on the defensive end at the four along with Javin.

Duke will have challenges if White gets significant time, especially as an undersized 4 with little advantage to offset that lack of size.

Is it me, or did Jack look better last year? He looked quicker, more fluid and his shot was more consistent in the little it of time he got early in the season.

There are several players out there that could fill that role and have been mentioned.
1- Reid Travis: who we've been discussing
2- EJ Montgomery: a topic on another thread

I'm sure the staff, although consumed with this year, has an idea of next year. With 3 recruits already committed and 5/6 (added Bolden to this for its unknown) going to the league and there's always a possible transfer (Tucker?), that's up to 7 players. The depth would not be ideal. The starting 5 would need to log over 30 minutes each with JG, Vrank, JRob and Jack getting time to give others breathers.

Honestly I recall one game of Jack last year. The @ VT game, when we were down 10-20 the whole game, and Jack didn't do a single thing.
I hope Jack sticks it out, seems like a great kid, and probably a great practice player. If we are relying on him for any minutes next year, we will be in trouble. Don't think that will be the case though with Reddish and Javin playing the 4.

I think Jack and Vrank both lack that mobility that's coveted in most major conferences. From all that is written about them, both are working on agility and some sort of quickness, laterally or otherwise.

But hey, Jack did look pretty darn good picking off that pass and going to the rim for 2. Just saying.
